We're on the London Outland spreadsheet but not the Ottawa one (this is where I';m being processed). Could someone add us?

App recieved - Oct 30th 2014
Sponsor Approval - January 14th 2015

So far it just app recieved and medical results recieved for mine.

Looking at the spreadsheet, it seems like October this year would be a semi realistic projection?

I'm kind of in limbo. I work at a uni so if I knew I would be done by sept/oct, I'd probably opt to quit in summer. If I thought November/December, it would make more sense for me to work through the next semester until Dec. Tough call!

August And September applicants are being processed at this time, so more than likely processing will start within the next 1 or 3 months.

We are trying to get in touch the the Ottawa office to add our new born son to the application, we emailed like they said we should but haven't hear anything in more than a month. We live overseas and therefore cannot call them (right?), any suggestions on how to proceed?

I wouldn't worry emailing them will be enough they can take some time to get back to you (if they even bother). Have you applied for citizenship certificate for your son yet?

I would love to be added to the Ottawa spreadsheet as well. I just can't seem to find it. I can't edit but all my info is there on the side! :D thanks!

We cannot get a citizenship certificate for our son because my wife was born to a Canadian father but in Australia and therefore has citizenship by decent, which she cannot pass on when the child is born outside Canada. :( Even though she lived her whole life in Canada

Hello!

I am december applicant from France and my application is being processing in Ottawa.
All what I have in ECAS is that they received my application on december. Nothing else. I know they are still working on August and September applicants, but is that normal?

In Paris VO processing time is 8 months. Now I have to wait 15 months... That's crazy. I am in France, far from my husband.

The waiting process is around 8 to 10 months in Ottowa. I am a September applicant. I haven't heard anything since SA in October. Hearing nothing is hopefully a good thing, but it makes me anxious as well.
One person from Early Sept. got DM.

Ah I see, well yes you will need to add him to the application. This was a previous thread on the same issue from last year regarding what you need to submit to add your son to the application. Just check the CIC website to ensure the information is still up to date reagrding the medical.

I still have "Application received". Not even "In process".
8 to 10 months from "Application received" or "SA"?

I think hearing nothing is not that good. If they want to ask us something, they will, but later. Waiting will be even longer.

I still don't understand why did they send my application to Ottawa.

I recently received my COPR - you can see from my timeline how long this took which is about the average at the moment for Ottawa. Processing time is taken from when CIC receive the application. You will likely not see 'in process' until just before you receive 'decision made'. In fact my ECAS was only 'in process' for one day. Ottawa seems to ebb and flow for processing applications suddenly speeding up then slowing down, its incredibly frustrating.

It's 8-10 months from Application received. People from August and September 2014 are getting DM, which is 8-9 months wait, not 15 - thankfully!:)

If you applied in December it has only been 6 months. If this trend continues you can expect them to be working on your application in 2-3 months, not 9.

You can view current wait times and how they have fluctuated for Ottawa here;

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq6VF-LGjkR9dGNpLUxQZ1Z0Mm80aE5ZWDBvWklEQUE#gid=0

Also, yes it's quite normal not to hear anything. Why do you think it's bad not to hear from CIC....? The only time CIC contacts people is when they've LOST parts of their application or require more evidence.

You won't hear from them after SA until you see ECAS change to IP or DM. Feel free to order your GCMS notes although mine contained nothing of interest other than that my FBI check I mailed in had been attached to my application.

I can't order GCMS notes cause my wife lives with me in Holland.
We just have to be patient :) this is hard sometimes.
Some folk from July and August where asked for additional documents back in Januari or Februari. I hope they have enough prove of intention, but it also makes me anxious...

I hate the whole "Citizenship by Descent" thing, it is complete and utter BS if you ask me. I was born in the United States to a Canadian father and an American mother. However, I have lived my entire life, minus about 6 months in Canada.

I think they should amend the law to include an exemption for citizens who were born outside but came to reside shortly after in Canada for their entire childhood life. Allowing them to pass citizenship by descent to their children if they choose to reside outside after their childhood (18).
