They have to base your application on cohabitation for one year up to the date of your application. I think that would be the date that is indicated beside the signatures on your application. Where are they getting this 2013/11 date? Is that when you filled in the forms?
Thanks for your response, BeShoo.

We filed in August 2014 (one year after I moved to Canada and started cohabitation with my partner).
November 2013 was when we moved from my partner's parents home (after the mother passed away) to our own condo.

I have now collated all paperwork that shows cohabitation from Aug 2013 to April 2015 (current date) and have explained that in a cover letter. Hope that it was just a typo on their part and that the new info. does the trick.

It sounds then like they may think you ceased living together in Nov 2013 (vs. simply moving together to your own condo). So, they are looking for information that you lived together for a year prior to then (to establish common-law status for a year). The new info should help them understand when and where you lived together and clear that up then :)

Hey everyone, I got a question about my notes. They say "recommended pass" and "file is ready for officer review". Just wondering if that means good news? Apparently all of my stuff checked out as I read in an earlier note. Just wondering if the end may be near?

I am sponsoring my u.s born wife, just for further info. Anyone able to guess how much longer my case will take? Haha. Just getting really anxious from waiting

I wrote a cover letter explaining and provided as many bills/statements, etc that I could since our cohabitation and definitely covers 18 months. So fingers-and-toes crossed. :)

Our file went to "Decision Made" March 30. The CoPR was dated April 1, the cover letter was dated April 2, we were away all of this week. It was postage metered with an April 7 date and it was waiting in our mailbox in Gatineau when we got back home tonight, the evening of April 10. We will be going to the border Saturday night for the "landing" procedure.
Thanks for this! We are still waiting on ours but my husband lives in Michigan so assuming the mail takes a bit longer to get there ;)

I think the recommend pass is a very good thing. Looks like you are close to being done.

I received an email as follows;

Dear Applicant,
Please confirm a valid postal address in Canada or the United States of America so that we may return your original documentation. Be advised that we do not mail passports or other valued information overseas.
Please be aware, that once you provide your new address, your document will be sent via Canada Post’s regular mail service which does not allow for tracking. Should you wish to be able to track your documents, you may visit http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/tools/cst/intro-e.asp in order to create a shipping label and then attach the finished product as a pdf file and send it to us. Please follow the step-by-step instructions in the attached document.
Please reply to this email as soon as possible.

This comes shortly after last week I sent in our marriage certificate & proof showing my husband lives and intends to live in Canada..I'm so confused, did they not accept the documents or are they sending them back because they're important..? I'm at a lost, and...concerned. Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's something??

I think they mean they want to return you your originals, especially if it is a marriage certificate. They probably made copies and noted that they viewed the originals.

I thought that too, but I just remembered when we first submitted everything it said that we wouldn't receive anything back and that's probably why I was worried...
Thanks.

Look like ottawa lost my passport. They said they sent it to Canada Post on april 1st. But Canada Post never receive it and tracking did not activate.

I sent a Case specfic enquiry to Ottawa but look like I will not get a reply as usual.

Any suggestion?

That sounds very bad, sorry :( When I thought my pp was lost on the way to Ottawa, since we didn't get any replies from anybody we contacted our MP and they helped us contacting Ottawa and Canada post. If Ottawa sent it, they have to have a proof of sending (because it sounds you used xpresspost), and then Canada post is liable and have to cover any expenses that come out of it.

I strongly recommend you to contact you MP.

My application online, is like decision made for the sponsorship (approved) and application received for PR. That's different from being in process right? It just means they have it?

Yes, that is different than IP - "in process". Sometimes they start working on the application before ecas changes to IP (mine was like that,it changed to IP along with passport request). All you can do now is just wait.
