I prefer Ottawa gets help from the other VO offices than getting everything dumped on them. I'm sure they thought of that but the processing times for Stage 1 has sped up greatly so I can only imagine a huge backlog now. Hopefully I'm wrong :-XIvanP said:
So long as applications are processed in the order they were approved, the more recent quick approvals by Mississauga shouldn't change the backlog for us. Any backlog would mean our applications will sit an extra month in Ottawa because they weren't sitting an extra month in Mississauga, which wouldn't change the overall processing time. The processing time for Buffalo, where my application would have gone if not for the Ottawa pilot, was 11 months, and now Ottawa is 12 months. And sponsor approval was 69 days, and now it's 35. So it seems like that month has just shifted from Mississauga to Ottawa. What we really want is for the Ottawa processing time to fall rapidly - hopefully that will happen as they are getting up and running. I'd really love to have this process done by March...lunas said:
