So we are getting ready to send in our application which I currently have with me in FL. Should I use a courier service or use an overnight, sign upon delivery service from the postal service or fedex/ups? And if it's a courier service, can anyone recommend one and tell me aprox how much it will cost?! So glad this part of the process is almost over, waiting will be nothing new for us so that we can deal with lol

Personally, I'm a fan of FedEx. It gets it there on time and you get a signature. Last time I used the postal service, the "next day by 3 pm" delivery guarantee turned into 2 days. Fortunately, it was only my passport and COPR they mislaid.

I used Canada Post because I knew it would be cheaper and more convenient. I think it cost 11 dollars.

Whichever you chose, just note that the Mississauga address is different if you send it courier as opposed to post.

Good luck! It's a great feeling to get that sucker in the mail :)

The only feeling that's better is opening up that return package with your COPR in it.

Depending on where your sending it and to whom this is a big choice. I mistakenly had to send additional info to my VO (London) from Canada and went with Canada post on a signed for service. I never realised that this service was as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Once Canada post had done their bit and got it in to the U.K the tracking ended lol (A fat lot of good that was to me) and then picked up by the British national post (Royal Mail). I had 1 hell of a job finding out if the package had been delivered to London VO or was stuck in customs as the Canada Post tracking system said.

If your sending overseas you should really use a courier company because you can track from A to B, whereas going with national post, their bit ends once they get it to the next country. A courier company will be more expensive but their tracking systems are far more advanced and you can see exactly what is happening rather than like myself worrying for 3 or 4 weeks if my package made it there.

I used Canada Post Priority when I sent my package, but I was sending from Montreal to Mississauga. The tracking was good in that case. Having sent extra stuff to the Visa Office in Warsaw last week with FedEx. I am very happy with their service. Really good tracking, and it made it on time over the Atlantic Ocean. My wife used UPS twice to send me paperwork from Europe also. It was good as well. I really suggest using one of the two and not a regular postal service as you are sending from United States as I understand. Believe me, the worries you will have with regular postal services... pay the extra but you will have a great piece of mind.

I used UPS and it was awesome! Brought the package in around 4pm, it was there next day before 10am. My package was weighed around 5 lbs and it cost me a little under $21 to send it, however, I was sending from the city right next to CIC-M so yours will be more expensive I'm sure. I can't remember which level of service I used, but it was one of the lower ones since I'm so close to CIC-M anyway, a higher level wasn't needed. I got an email when my package left the UPS store and an email when it arrived at its location, as well as the tracking information that I could check on the website for all the little stops in between.

I ensured I had a complete scanned copy of everything. That way I could print it as necessary.

Same here. I scanned every single piece of paper that went into our package, exactly in that order.

Was it delivered? How did you find out? I sent additional document (not requested documents) to Manila and Canada Post tracking says "it has arrived in the country" and seems like it was stuck there forever. I tried to track PhilPost but the the site is not working. I don't know how to track it. I am just hoping that it was indeed delivered. :(

The tracking doesn't end, tracking numbers are international. Canada post will track their part in Canada, Royal Mail will track their part in the UK. You just have to use the Royal Mail website with the same tracking number once the package has left Canada.
