It is not allowed to send passport by courier, any other options?

Hi guys

Once my wife receives a passport request, she will need to send it from our country "X" to country "Y" because we don't have a Canadian embassy or VFS in our country. The problem is that DHL (which is only courier service) told me my government notified them they cannot mail passports and it is illegal to do so. For my wife to travel to Country "Y" and stay the entire 2-4 weeks, it is very expensive. What are other ways to deliver the passport to VFS and receive it back safely?

You should accept expenses or find someone who lives in a country "Y" to help you.

You'll likely get better advice if you tell us the actual names of the two countries you're dealing with.

Your spouse should check local resources as to what solutions are available. My best guess is that there is some local service or arrangement, OR possibly travel to somewhere nearby, courier/post it from there, and return.

It may be more useful in this case if you specify which country.
