Spousal sponsorship: how long to wait after passport request if you have to travel in another country

Hi folks

If my wife is asked to submit her passport but in the embassy of another country, how long is she expected to wait to receive her visa-stamped passport? As you know, she will not be able to leave the other country without her passport!

Please note that:
-She did not submit her spousal sponsorship application yet
-I did spend some time on this forum but found no similar question

I have to clarify that the reason she will have to travel to another country is that we do not have a Canadian embassy in our country.

You typically can’t submit it in person you send it by courier.
