CEC October 2014 Applicants

They cannot fire or let you go, that is ridiculous. I used to work for BMO as well and the HR just wanted to see my confirmation of BOWP to make sure I have applied for an extension before the expiry of my current work permit. The HR understands that immigration matters take longer than usual

I can understand your plight about making the employer understand the intricacies of the immigration and no company wants to end up paying legal fees for hiring or having someone on their payroll illegally.

i called them a few minutes ago..

m a mid-august 2014 applicant. agent first asked for my application date, then counted the time elapsed - said okay it's been 17 months and then put me on hold to check the status.

after a minute, i received a response saying - "your file is in process".
my next question was what is the current update on file - "in process".
i asked can you check if eligibility is passed - "your file is in ottawa. no eligibility has not even started. they haven't even looked at it."
i have a BOWP application as well, can you check the status on that - "when did you submit ?"
in December 2015 - "it is received, processing has not started for these files."
i thanked the agent for updates.

feel like crying now, my current wp is about to expire and am on the verge of losing my job

If this is the state of CEC-2014, do we have a chance to go over this insanity by Aug-2016 ? I think it's high time for folks in GTA to figure out a way and meet McCallum and put forward our case. Right now the priority of this govt seems to be (1) refugees (2) family (PR for Citizens spouses) and (3) EE

I 'm up for coordinating and meeting McCallum. Let me know.

I have suggested a few times , lets protest outside his office or outside the CIC office in st clair

If they haven't looked at post Aug/15/2014 applications till now, there is NO way they can complete the process of CEC-2014 by the end of the year, considering their pace and more refugees. Apparently bulk of the applications for CEC-2014 were received in the month of Aug/Sept and the quota was full by Oct/15/2014. - It's a fact.

FB is a good idea, but many wouldn't be comfortable that kind of access to their personal FB accounts. How about creating a "googlegroups" or "yahoo" groups.

If answered right as october , you will automatically subscribe to this group. We should atleast bring it up to McCallum
