Looking to clear up my situation.

IEC working holiday visa ended on 2nd November 2017, however I applied for an extension and went on to implied status before the end date of my visa.
Submitted my final PR Express Entry application while on implied status, and used my AOR to apply for BOWP before my implied status ended. My extension got denied, and hence my temporary resident status declined on Feb 16th 2018.
As stated though, I submitted my PR and my BOWP applications before Feb 16th, while my status was still valid. With my BOWP application submitted while I wait for a PR decision, do I go on to implied status again? Can I continue working? Any help much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you don't get implied status after being on an IEC Visa. Also what was your application for an extension for?

Received a letter in my CIC account which says additional $100.00 for open work permit is required.

I originally paid the $155 application fee, but it seems that I need to pay $100 more which I didn't realise originally. Does anyone know how I pay this? From the letter I received, it seems I just need to add the receipt to my application but I can't figure out where I pay the money.

I'm currently on IEC visa if that matters.

just got BOWP approved, still waiting for PPR though
got a ghost update yesterday after more than a month of no changes after applying and it means once you have ghost updates good news coming soon

I received the BOWP I applied for. Not sure if that is what you mean though.

If the CIC site says approx 5 Weeks for a Work permit application processing time (applying from Canada), is this approx 5 weeks from BOWP application or from R10 completion?

I applied online for bridging open work permit yesterday. While filling out the application i forgot to attach my “PNC” but i did attach my “AOR” in the letter of explaination. I also sent CSE form informing about this just 1 hour after submitting the application. I couldnt call them because they are closed on weekends. Really worried about this since my current wp expires in a month. Any help guys??

Has anyone successfully applied for an extension on their work permit, knowing they would get denied but buying them time, then used that time to get ITA and apply for BOWP, and actually got approved? If you can't tell, I'm clutching at straws here hoping for some way around this issue

Most likely won't work. A while back CIC became fed up with people abusing the process and applying for work permit extensions when they don't qualify for them. So rather than refusing these applications, they are now rejecting them as incomplete. That means you go out of status effective the day your original work permit expired. Note that you cannot apply for PR while out of status in Canada (also no BOWP obviously).

Looks like I'll get ITA on the 6th June draw (if WES cooperates)... and submit my documents asap etc etc. Has there been a consensus on whether we can apply for the BOWP with just AOR, before eligibility is passed? I originally was going to apply via paper to buy some time, but someone said in another thread that my application will just be held until R10 is passed.

Does anyone have a clear answer on this? I'm worried if I submit an application for BOWP online (as I will have a week before i'm out of status), and then they go to check and I haven't passed the eligibility check yet, it will be rejected and be deemed "incomplete" ??

You can apply online with AOR and you should be good. Your application will just be held until R10 is passed but you will be in implied status. good luck

Thank you so much Hanan22. This has probably been asked a million times but can we work on implied status? Some say yes, some say no, someone said cic/ircc (can't remember) twitter said not until we have BOWP in our hands... I planned to stop work until BOWP came through. Just so much information out there and help centre gives so many different answers.

You can work if you applied before your legal status is expired. I worked on implied status and it was all good. All the best

I just want to visit Canada in late July to apply for BOWP to secure visa extension as my PR application is under process and I have no idea how long will take. Based on your experience would you recommend me to apply keeping in mind all these scenarios i mentioned? Will appreciate your guidance. Thanks!

One of the requirements to get a BOWP is that you must be in Canada working.
