Cannot answer the specific question but looks like the application form has been changed whether a conincidence or to do with C6 who knows http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/minors.asp
Good catch, even though I still can not open that form, it is understandable why it is there now.

Under C6, a minor could apply without a Canadian parent at Royal Assent. Therefore this rule is already enforced, unlike the 3/5 rule.

If the minor is not part of the application for a parent that is or qualifies to be a Canadian Citizen, then the minor would have to independently meet all the requirements for citizenship.

Still it states on form

Guardians can apply but one of the natural or adoptive parents must be a Canadian citizen or applying to become a Canadian Citizen. You must provide a birth certificate, adoption order or a legal document showing guardianship.

So one of parents still need to be citizen

Thanks
Syed

Possibly somewhat obscure question:

I initially came up here as a student and hold a BA from U of T. I can see from the CIC website that a copy of my diploma is acceptable proof for the language requirements, but I'm still a little nervous as the diploma itself doesn't state anything about the program beyond that I graduated and my degree (it doesn't even state my specialization).

Does anyone know if it needs to contain any specific information, or should I stop worrying about it because it's a real diploma from a well-known school.l?

Yeah I just managed to open the form now. You are right.
Just FYI

These forms always problematic when you try to display / open these in Chrome. Better option is always IE :)

  1. Proof of completion of a secondary or post-secondary program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, includes:
    • A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, or
    • A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation from a program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad.
Note: You must have successfully finished a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement. If the original document is in a language other than English or French then you must also include a letter from the academic institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with an official translation of the original document.

This can be a 12-month certficate from a 2-year college?
It does not need to be a 4-year degree?

Hi Experts,

Need your expertise. My son's passport didn't have surname (indian passport authority mistake) and that is why Landing form, PR card and SIN number is blank in front of First name however Surname has complete name as XXXXX Kumar.

Now he has got new passport with correct details. Do I need to change his PR card and SIN number before applying for Citizenship alongwith me?
What should me my next action, if any?
Really appreciate if anyone has expertise to answer my query?

Hi all, wondering if any one of you can give some suggestions. Me and my family came to Canada March 15th, 2010 and we became permanent resident on March 15th, 2014. From march 2010 to May 2017, its 1150 days. Are we eligible to apply for citizenship or do we have to wait until fall to apply. Thanks in advance.
