That's right. Her hoping means nothing. She herself cannot know how long it'll take. I'm just hoping she keeps her word. I remember reading somewhere that she said she would convert the amendment into a bill if it delays C6 by a lot ... something along these lines.

no, she said if the amendment is defeated, she will do a separate bill. bill c-6 is not read the third time but to vote on the amendment now. that means bill won't proceed until the amendment has a conclusion.

i guess 'suffer' is too strong a word. we are not suffering as we still like living and working here, and enjoy most of the equal rights as other Canadians. but it is true we don't have too much flexibility. we don't go abroad for long vacations or visit family back in the original country because that will delay becoming a citizen. besides, we can not participate in elections. government jobs may also want citizens as a priority...BTW, i have lived here 3.5 years in the past 5 years. I could not apply under c-24, and I don't think that c-6 will make my application any sooner.SufferInCan said:

Yes in that tweet, she had mentioned hopefully in front maybe because she would not like to firmly commit to a time, also in another tweet she had mentioned that once the debates reach a certain level or number the leader of the government can step in and close the debate...so I would think that since the whole bill was debated extensively by the Tories in the second reading it should not need more than one day. It is the amendment that needs a fresh debate which will take up time.

To be honest you are optimistic members, but even if its delayed until September or December 2017 the bill itself is so great.
This amendment is very important for anyone, because who is gonna judge you are guilty or not, common be logic.

then the bill is going on the right track, there is enough of time until 31 July 2017.
Guys take it easy once its sent to HoC then the bill is over it will be approved by HoC then goes to the governor.
