Hi Guys,

For my wife WES report, Wes has mentioned as 4years of professional study for the law degree as it was done in Philippines College and 2 other degrees are mentioned as equivalent to bachelors separately. While creating EE, shall i select it as professional degree or option 2-3 degrees?

Yes it also has Bachelor of Law as a Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession.

So you mean I should get the ECA done from WES and it would show it as a Bachelor's degree (and not a professional one). While applying at CIC I should choose Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession ?
Hi, I just wondered how you proceeded here, I am in the same position and don’t know whether to select professional degree on the CIC application despite the WES report saying 4 year degree.

Hi,
I selected a professional degree and it was accepted.
What matters is the report be specific about "Bachelor Law".

Good Luck!

Thanks so much for the quick response Gessica90, in the detail of my credential it says Batchelor of Laws, so I assume that is enough to satisfy CIC?

Yes, the only thing I did was to write a letter to explain that "Bachelor of Law" is considered a Professional Degree even though the report shows only 4 years degree.
This was my experience, but if you feel more comfortable you can look for a professional to help you with this.
You're welcome!

Hi Loulou and Gessica, did you both select Professional Degree on your Express Entry profile, despite your WES report saying 4 yrs Bachelors Degree? My WES report says Bachelors 4 yrs and in the body it says Bachelors in Law. Will I still get points for a professional degree because in the body it says 'Bachelor of laws'? Who did you write the letter to, Gessica? Does anyone have contact details for CIC please?

Hello all.
I did my B.A LL.B (5 years) from Panjab University and got it evaluated from WES. However i got a dual bachelors (4 years) evaluation with the specialisation/area of focus mentioning Liberal arts/Law. Now, since CIC says that Bachelor of Laws shall be considered as a professional degree, should I too, while applying, file my degree as a professional degree? And should i then altogether neglect the arts part of degree while filling the education section?
Thanks.

Hi..gessica, did you get points in CIC for the 'masters degree or licensed profession'? I have also completed 5 years law program and My WES ECA shows equivalency of Bachelors of 4 years and Major in Law. But after creating the profile I am getting the points only for Bachelors. Can you help with your opinion?
