Hi All August applicants,
I have a quick question regarding BOWP(Bridge open work permit). With BOWP we usually get extension for 1 years or more?

Thanks

It's a new permit. Not extension and it's for a year.
You may want to post about BOWP in another thread so more people can answer

Usually 1 year, as that's the average processing time for CEC applications.

Thanks Toby for the response, I am a August applicant so thought to ask question within. However, next time I'll ask unrelated question separately.

Thanks

Just want to update you guys about my BOWP:

WP expired on 10 Oct 2013
BOWP applied twice on 9 Oct (one before receiving AOR and the other one after)
AOR received on 9 Oct
BOWP approved on 2 Nov, valid to 1 Nov 2014
Second app for BOWP withdraw notification received on 4 Nov 2013, refund will be reimbursed to my credit card. :D

how could you apply for the BOWP before receiving AOR?

This is currently a grey area in the BOWP criteria - whether the AOR must have been issued before you submit your application, or whether it is sufficient for the AOR to have been issued before they start processing your application, which could be weeks after you submit it.

I hope they clear up this ambiguity soon, as some people on here have successfully applied for a BOWP on this basis, and others have had it refused.

Guys,

I have applied for a new passport (as current one is going to expire in Feb'14) after submitting my PR application and expecting it in a week or two. How do I inform CIC about my new passport? Do I just need to mail them the copy of my new passport with a mention of my PR application number ?

Thanks,
Suraj

Correct. Scan page with the new passport number and email to CPP-O. Mention your name, DoB and filenumber so they can
find and attach it to your application.

Hi August applicants,

I applied for PR without PCC. Although I applied for my PCC on August 30, I have not received it till now. But my wife received her PCC on Sep 12. I am not sure how much time it will take to process my PCC. My question is what is validity of PCC.? Should I submit my Wife's PCC now and submit mine when I receive it?

please suggest..

Thanks,

Yes, to be on the safe side, I would do that. Submit hers now and yours whenever you get it.

So I applied in the last week of August and got my AOR last week.........so basically AOR means all my documents are complete and my application is forwarded to the visa office right?

Now how long is it gonna take for the next response?

Correct. Depends on the processing time, could be anywhere between 2-8 months until you get the MR.

so my next response would probably be whether my application is rejected or not?

Medical means there are more than 90% chance that the application would be accepted right?

I don't think they will require any additional documents from me because I have added each and every documents
