Got my AOR today. Dodged a bullet on this one. Have a little faith. Knock on the wood!! Time for BOWP now.

Guys I have a question.
To be eligible to apply for a BOWP does the current work permit have to expire withing the next 4 mnts.

In other words, I have a closed work permit valid until FEB 2015 , and i have filed for my PR application and also received the my AOR (file#). Can i apply for a BOWP?

No, you don't qualify for a BOWP. You can try and apply, but risk losing the application fee and getting rejected.

On last day when AOR was supposed to come I was feeling like I'm 14 years old again and waiting for a call from a new very-very cool boyfriend after a date... I was looking at my e-mail constantly, was nervous the whole day, and my mind was totally occupied thinking about AOR. Ohh hell! So glad it came that evening, not next one. :

Absolutely! You can try to apply, with a cover letter stating why you need/want the open work permit.
But it's up to the VO assessing that application to approve or reject it.
According to OB485-A, you are not eligible.
