Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd give our thread a little bump and ask how has everyone been holding up lately? I find the wait is already starting to get to me. I have good days and bad days. For the most part I'm remaining hopeful that my husband and I will have a quick process, but I have bad moments as well where I think it could take a really long time, etc. I think what is really weighing on me right now is the fact that I don't know if we'll be able to be together for Christmas. Financially, things are really difficult for us right now and my husband requires a visa to visit Canada, which is pretty unlikely to obtain, and for me to visit him during Christmas holidays is just crazy crazy expensive, since tons of people vacation there over the holidays! Maybe we'll get lucky and he will get a visitor visa (we're probably going to submit it next week and the results take a week to get back. Really the only reason we're even attempting the TRV is because he got one in 2010. However, we did apply for one at the beginning of this year and he was denied, so it's still unlikely) but the best would be that they would just finish processing his PR in record time so he could land as a PR rather than a visitor!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I have mixed feelings. For one part, I feel like July (app. time I'm expecting to hear news) is going to be here really soon; I feel like I'm not going to notice as time flies by. On the other hand, I'm anxious to hear news! I wish the VO would contact you twice a month to let you know everything is going to be fine :P

I think we have to try to stay positive. It's hard to achieve, but if we do, this whole process will go smoother ;D

There is no doubt its a diffucult time for all us. We have to be strong n patient. No worries times fly . Sometimes i go back to earlier months to get motivated when seeing couples reuniting in Canada. Hopefuly soon it will be all us with a happy ending :)

I do the same thing! I find reading through earlier months threads and spreadsheets and seeing their progress gives me hope that ours will go just as smoothly and there's nothing to worry about.

I agree though, Christmas is a tough time for all of us =(

In a weird way I kind of miss Phase 1... at least there was somewhat of a timeline to follow! Phase two is like facing a 6-12 month long black hole... a little bit unnerving.

I totally agree! I keep trying to find some other way to figure out how things are going to go with my VO(Ottawa) and there just isn't any straight answers out there. We could be looking at 6 months, or 14. I really hope it's closer to 6 though haha

Overall it's nice to have the stress of the first stage over with and I've stopped checking my email and mailbox several times a day, but it still bothers me that I don't know whats going on at all or how long anything is going to take. =(

I agree as well. The not really being told anything is hard. They say no news is good news, but then there are the thoughts that what if our file lays forgotten somewhere.
My visa office sent the aor saying 6-12 months, and I also hope it is quicker than even 6 months! There is a girl at my visa office who got approves to sponsor 8 weeks before I did and she went to in process this week, so if her husband's file is approved in a week or 2 I will really be getting my hopes up that my husband will be approved in January. That will make for a 5 month process total which is almost unheard of at our vo, so I'll try not to get my hopes up too high!

MY wife got call today and embassy told her to come pick up her visa on 16-01-2013

The waiting is indeed difficult, and to be apart. Lonely. I dio have good hopes about our application. I don't think there's any reason why Cnada would refuse me, but it's still a bit unsure.

I wish all the best for everybody.

well, gdluck to us august applicants!!!its not easy to wait long,,,,i hope we can have our ppr soon,,,

I too find myself monitoring the spreadsheets from earlier months to see if there is any rhyme or reason to the lengths of time it takes to get through each stage of the process. Our application is in Ottawa. It was originally supposed to go to Buffalo. One question I do have concerns the interview. Since the application is now in Ottawa does this mean that if an interview was requested would it be in Ottawa?

Good luck to all applicants. Keep up the faith.

Ugh! This second stage is brutal!

I still find myself looking at the first stage approval processing times - 35 days! That's awesome.

In 'theory', the overseas visa office timelines should be updated for their quarterly review on November 20! That is coming up soon!! I am hoping for a reduction in wait times (obviously) :) I don't think they'll actually post things on time though. Hmmm.

I agree - this waiting is such a torture ! I'm going crazy.

I really hope that VOs post the new time lines on Novemeber 20th, too! I doubt they will, but that's the only thing we can hope at the moment, since majority of us are in dark for this 2nd stage!

Good luck to us all !
