Hi everyone, I hope someone can shed some light or clarity into this so that I can understand how close we are in our application process.
Basically I filed outland sponsorship of my wife through our lawyer and after biometrics and medical, my wife received PFL as the officer was unsure if my wife was divorced at the time of our marriage even though we provided government issued divorce certificate and our marriage certificate also clearly indicating my wife status as officially 'divorced'.
We replied to the PFL last month in May as my wife was indeed divorced a decade before our marriage and we provided additional documentation and clarification to support this.
A week later, eligibility turned to completed and a week after that end of May background verification also showed completed in the status tracker. So as of this time, all 4 steps are showing completed in green in the application tracker. However, we have not received any formal response from IRCC, so I am just trying to get some clarity on what Eligibility Completed could mean in our case.
Would the tracker show "eligibility completed" only if the eligibility criteria was met?
Since the background verification took place, does it also mean eligibility passed or would background verification happen regardless of eligibility outcome?
At the same time, I have seen a lot of people in whatsapp group receiving pre arrival letter once their eligibility got completed but we haven't received any such letter, is that a cause of concern for us? Also since its nearing a month since all 4 steps got completed, what can be the reason so far for holding off the final decision from IRCC?
I hope someone more familiar with this process can provide some understanding on this. Thanks.
