It was 30 something today here.

I wouldn't mind never seeing snow again tbh.

It was a record high of 35.6C just a few days ago here! Can't stand the heat without AC but easy to get sick going in and out of outdoor/indoor area.

ok, so just ordered my GCMS notes. Not because I'm worried about how long its taking but mainly because im curious. Wonder how far my application is along. Also curious to see if theyve flagged my lack of chinese police cert as an issue.

Hopefully get an email with them within the next couple weeks! Think I did it right.

Not a bad idea to keep checking, at least to make sure communications don't get lost in the mail. Recently I checked my partner's medical is passed without everything else even started. Good to know medical is out of the way and the medical expiry date is clearly listed.

First time I ordered it only took 12 days. Closer to the full 30 days after that.

dont even bother with Chinese police check; if you were not there. my wife had lived in China before and I WAS Chinese citizen, when i was a kid. lol.. we tried to get it from embassy here both in Tunis and Vancouver. they cant help. needed to be in China. just write a statement to cic.. i have the same wonder too. let's cross our fingers.

i think by law they have to respond by the 30th day (there is definitely some official timeline imposed). if they are unable to complete the request within that time, they will send an email about an extension of the deadline. i'm pretty sure i got this when i applied for my notes back when i was going through...

Yeah getting the check if you dont live in China is a pain, unless you lived in one of the big tier cities like beijing or shanghai. Otherwise you have to go yourself. So you guys were technically required to send one too but didn't? I included a statement and a bunch of email evidence showing that I couldn;t should be enough. Do keep wondering about this small point though.

Thanks! Yes I will let you know how it goes. We feel less nervous about it because we had to do something similar to activate his IEC visa but this is for real!!!

Congrats!! We just sent the passport on Monday and it was received today. They're going to let us know when it's ready for pickup and then we're going to ask the courier to pick it up. The courier would not do the pre-paid bill thing. They don't do that here. It's very strange. But they do pick up and then you pay upon delivery. Anyone flying from Europe with a cat? We have a cat as well and I want to make sure I have everything in order for her so she can be in the cabin with us. We're probably flying with Austrian airlines.
