Hi Chander,

Number of photos depends on your visa office (ranges from 4 to 6 to each applicant). all the photos details can be found in your visa office form instructions.

Hi Saki/Mitali,

Today i went to the bank , they issued me a small piece of paper called Blanace certificate and has the name of the bank. The bank certify that my balance is XX SAR as at the closing of 11 Aug 2010, signed and stamped but with no details regarding the person who signed, also fields of my name and balance was filled by handwriting. they told me that they used to issue it like that and no other forms.

I also issued a 6 month bank statement stamped)

Do you think that both of them together will be ok or the details of person signed should be mentioned ?

Dear Saki
I have an overall 7.0 band in ielts; with all 7.0 and 7.5 in speaking except 6.5 in listening. can the chc london object at 6.5 or not?

Hi,

The bank stamp is more than enough, its ok not to have a name of the person. You are showing 6 months statement as well which is more than enough so dont worry.

Cheers

Hi Hinna,

As far as my knowlege is visa office does not look at the specific band they check the overall score out of 16 and you have a very good score i dont think they can object on this.

Cheers

Hi Hinna,

IELTS serves two purpose, first-Proof of your English proficiency and secondly -for the applicants to gain points.

The highest score (New rule, people who took their exam post 26th June) of 4 points for R,W,S is at 6.5 and for L it has been raised to 7.5. The bands are granted individually and the bands that you have will fetch you 14 points.

Hi Arshad,

If I understand correctly, your friend's STUDENT visa will expire on 1st Oct. He will start a new job at a company on 15th Nov. Therefore he is without status for one month and a half.

1) To be out of status is not good.

2) Has he already got a work permit from that company? It should have been mentioned when he got his paperwork from that company. The current time line to get Work permit from New companies is abut 2 months.

3) He should immediately contact the company for details regarding his work permit.

4) Ask him to check his Student permit which he should have got when he entered Canada. There will be a detailed information regarding what he has to do and when. Generally, people have to "Extend their stay" by filling up forms (Available on CIC website) one month before the expiry of the PERMIT.

5) One should not become out of status at any cost.

Hi hinnajamal,

According to pre 26th rule, the criteria was band 7-9 will be granted a total of 4 points. Since you have the following bands:

R-7.0 = 4points
W-7.0 = 4 points
S-7.0 = 4 points
L- 6.5 = 2 points (You would have got 4 points if you had 7.0 band)
Total = 14 points

Old rule
R-7.0 = 4points
W-7.0 = 4 points
S-7.0 = 4 points
L- 6.5 = 2 points (You would have got 4 points if you had 7.5 band)
Total = 14 points

Marks for the bands are calculated as separate module. If you are worried about the marks and the bands you scored... you are fine....14 is a very good score.

Hi, I have submitted my application for FSW1 on April 15, 2010 . Received email from CIO NS on June 30, 2010 with file number and request for submission of documents within 120 days. i am also done with my IELTS last June 5, 2010 and got the result in 13 days. CIC asked me to submit my full docs (originals) for review together with my IELTS result to be submitted to Visa Office in Manila. Hoping to get track with the processing status together with those who applied on the same date.
