Has anyone successfully applied for a TRP from the USA? I live 10 min from the consulate in LA and will be going there today to check it out.

It seems to me that those DUI entry specialists are a bunch of scammers. so I will be applying one myself.

Some of the lawyers even mentioned that they will "create a package" for me to enhance my chance at the border. I find that to be ridiculous...I suspect that the package is what a TRP application requires (letter of support, itinerary, etc etc )

Thanks

Does anyone know If you have to fill out the form for the TRV prior to the border if you meet the requirements on OB 389 (You can cross one time without paying the 200 dollar fee if you received no jail time or have any other convictions) I don't mind filling the form out but It seems stupid to mail it in if you are not required to pay the 200 dollar fee for a one time visit. (And they will most likely reject it because no payment was added) Do i just show the TRV form and discharge documents to the officer at the border and I'm in? Any help would be great, thanks ill be traveling by car to visit my fiancee and her family that i have not yet met..I figured thats a good enough reason to cross the border. I completed my sentence in March 2015

Hello! i live in Italy and i need to get a TVP since my eTA got denied due to the fact that i couldn't turned in by the due date the police certificate they required (shoplifted in the US back in 1998!) Processing time to get the criminal record is currently 14 weeks!!!!
I read carefully the post that adamwalden that on April 25, 2016, 08:11:26 pm wrote, and i founded very helpful but i would like to know if anybody has deal with this in Italy through the Italian consulate??
In fact this forum has given me the answers that the consulate itself hasn't been able to give me since they NEVER reply to my e.mails. Now time it's running since i need to be in Canada by mid October to attend a wine fair (i work as the export manager of a winery) and again the beginning of November for another fair.
Can somebody help?

Hi:

Thought I would update this form, I have received positive decision on my TRP and new work permit. I applied back in May 2016 and received both permits in September 2016 (paper based application) it took some times but I was able to work during my implied status and even was able to renew my OHIP as well.

Re: Application for Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) from Germany

Respected Members,

I hope my post find you in good nick . I have urgent query regarding Canadian visit Visa application from Germany. My brief profile is International student doing Msc Economics & Finance From Germany and my German visa is until until October 2018 also has valid UK visit visa till June 2017. I already once to London and also visited Switerzland, Norway, Paris , Belgium , Itlay and Austria in last and 1.5 years during free time but being in schengen zone there are no immigration stamps on passport for this travel .
On

About employment I am working for Ministy of Overseas Pakistanis since September 2010 to date and nowadays on ex-Pakistan study leave till march 2017. About bank statement I have almost 15000 CAD in my Deutsche bank account. I am not doing any job here in Germany .

The most important thing is I already have once USA visit visa rejected in may 2016( got nervous in total 1 min Interview ).My humble request to respected members and experts of this group is that please advice me about chances of getting Canadian visit visa taking into account the above mentioned facts and whether I apply it from Germany or it's better if I apply it from Pakistan. The visa is required purely for tourism purposes as there is no immediate relative is already in Canada.

Regards
Fahd

Kia Ora everyone. This post is awesome, thank you. I have a DUI (convicted in NZ). Canada law is .05 and I blew .077 back in Nov 2014. I'm coming up to Graduating med school and my Uni wants to take me on to recruit Canadian (& other) students, requiring 2x 1month trips to this amazing country I was lucky to spend time in before that 1 stupid night lol. Are any kiwi's reading this, and applied for TRP from NZ/Aust? From the various forums I've read, I should be accepted but I need to get this sorted so that I can actually take this job on. x

Hello, I thought I would share my TRP experience for anyone who is looking into this subject.

I followed Adamwalden's post in submitting the TRP. Based on our location the package was sent to the New York office. Unfortunately it was returned to us in 10 business days without any comments. I can only assume the package is missing something.

I looked further into this and under "www cic gc ca/english/information/applications/guides/5312ETOC.asp", it says the document checklist (IMM 5507) is one of the forms that must be filled out and submitted. I plan to include the document checklist on our next submission and hopefully they will accept it this time.

Hi there, my Brazilian husband is trying to gain entry to Canada to be with me and my daughter while he awaits his PR to finish processing. He has applied multiple times for a Visitor Visa but they all attempts have been denied. We sent many documents proving ties to Brazil but they will not issue him a Temporary Visa. Are we eligible to apply for a TRP for him and his daughter to keep our family together until his PR is complete. I have received Sponsor Approval and he has already passed his medical exams and Schedule A. Any advice is greatly appreciate.

TRPs are for those who are inadmissible to Canada - so no, he's not eligible. He can certainly try applying for a TRV (regular visitor visa again). Unfortunately it's not unusual for CIC to refuse TRVs for individuals who aren't really visitors but plan to remain in Canada long term. It's quite likely he will have to wait out the processing of the PR visa in Brazil.

I just successfully applied for TRP thru the mail/online.

follow these instructions/Include all these things in your packet to send to the Canadian Consulate:
This is super helpful! Thank you. I am trying to go to Canada for my best friend's wedding but my travel date is before my trial. Would I still qualify for a TRP? I've called a Canadian Immigration Lawyer and Border Services and heard conflicting things.

How did this work out for you guys? I'm a moron and purchased non-refundable plane tickets for my husband and myself without having knowledge of the problems a DUI can cause for entry, until trying to rent a car.

Hoping to apply for TRP at the border (for husband) and not lose out on our $600+ tickets...

Hi everyone,

Is it true that I do not need a background check for TRP as said on the previous page? Thank you!

Hello - Sorry to ask same questions, but Mr. Walden's description of TRP process is best I have found. Can anyone add their experiences?

I have a single DUI (six years old, last driving restriction lifted a little over three years ago.) I need to go to Vancouver for a business function. Airfare would be non-refundable, so TRP application would contain hotel, dates, etc., but not flights.

It sounds like biggest surprise from Mr. Walden's experience is the short response time. I have always heard it takes months, but I know there was a strike in the foreign service that caused massive delays several years ago.

Thanks for sharing any recent experiences!
