how did you get hold of an officer in the airport? because you were in the departure area, right?

This is really good question. I also had the same impression how do I see the officer. But I had to know this because we suppose to surrender her visitor status to CBSA. The location of their office is at Aisle 9, if you go straight just before the stone wall to your right there is small sign which says CBSA Service something like that. U have to use the buzzer and have to explain why did u come and then they will let u in to their office.
But really wish nobody ever need to go through with this kind of stressful situation. It was not that easy to convince the officer, we have to show tons of documents for that. But anybody needs further information please feel free to inbox me.

i got the same signature from Ms bennette. It was received on 14 Jan.

Hi all,

My passport was received by CPC Ottawa yesterday and was signed by MS BENNETTE. Has any one got the same signature?

Hi,

This is just an update about my status. I have received passport request on Jan 6, 2015, and yesterday received my COPR and visa on Jan 15, 2015.
If you're authorized to update the "Immigration tracker - PhD stream", please update my status.

NOTE: As many of you already know, if you're already in Canada on a valid permit, you can land by visiting a CIC office near your place, i.e. you don't need to leave the country, or flagpole. To do so, call CIC call center 1-888-242-2100 and make an appointment. If you're like me in the Ottawa region, you don't need to make an appointment. They have dedicated hours for this purpose. It's two Tuesdays in each month (the Tuesdays with odd dates, for example Jan 27, Feb 3, Feb 17, etc.) from 10am-12pm, and 1pm-3pm.

Cheers and good luck to all,

We have moved to a new place a few months ago and I changed my address through ecas. Now, I received my GCMS notes which shows that my address has been changed but my wife's is still the old one. Since, I have already sent our passports to ottawa, what should I do? Should I wait until I get them back and let officer now during landing? Or I should call CIC call centre and ask them to change it?

As for my wife as the dependent, I think the only problem with wrong address is that she might not receive her PR card. Since the PR card application will automatically be initiated when I land, don't you think that I might be better wait until landing?

Thanks in advance

when you do your landing the officer will ask you about your adress and wil make sure that he wrote it correctly so you get ur cards, dont worry.

Thanks Pepe and m.samy for your replies.

I called CIC this morning and they advised me to correct it online right away. So did I.
I also wrote an email to CPC and informed them about this issue. I don't think it would cause any delay in processing visa.

Friends, I have a question about drivers license. I know it is irrelevant to this forum but I`m asking here because many of you are or have been international students. My home country license expired and I want to get a Canadian license instead of renewing home country. My question is:

Does it make a difference to get driver`s license on a student visa or pr visa? In other words, does the driver`s license expire for the students based on the expiry date of study permit or student visa?
Do you recommend that I wait for the result of my pr application and then apply for driver`s license, or do I apply now?

no difference what so ever between citizens and foreigners regarding driver license expiry date --i think u have to have your home country license valid.

Sounds good! Have you got your tracking number activated?
