Sarsanballa's GCMS notes can help all the applicants after May 2013 to see if the Ottawa is counting RA as work experience or not.

All we need is for sarsanballa to conform that he only included RA and TA as work experience. In this way we need not wait to see what is in his GCMS notes.

Sarsanballa could you please confirm this asap?

thanks !

I also believe they are now processing later applications to keep the average processing time short, which is undoubtedly unfair.

I also believe that they are playing this dirty game to make their face look good in their reports. If any of you is affected by this, let's do something. Let's make a move and try to reach out. You are invited to make suggestions and then we can decide what to do.

Hello there,

They don't send any emails after receiving the application, they'll send you an email of positive eligibility response (PER) with your application number once they review it in Sydney.

Hi N_O:

I mean acknowledgement from sydney. DO they send AOR immediately or only after eligibility assessment? I can see in your profile that you got AOR in about 17 days. Was that AOR or eligibility assessment?

Actually, it was the PER not the AOR. Sydney will send you an email after the initial eligibility assessment, which take a long time these days.

Re: RA work per week and different RA amounts per year

Hi all,

I would really appreciate any advice on my issue below.

I'm a little concerned about something. I have been doing grad school for 5 years
(2 years MSc + currently 3 years PhD ) under the supervision of the same professor,
and have been receiving RA funds from him since the beginning. Now, although I
have been helping him with research, doing reviews, writing papers together etc, etc,
there was never an agreement about how many hours per week I would work.
Furthermore, when I check my account in the employee services website of my
school, I see that I have apparently worked 10 hour per year or something! So, I
guess somebody put the number there randomly. My supervisor has no idea and
told me that he will sign anything.

What should I do with the hours per week thing of my RA letter? Should I put an
estimation of how many hours I'm in school working on my research per week? Mind
that I have been receiving different RA amounts every year, so that may not appear
accurate.

Many thanks in advance.

Sydney just returned my friend's application after 3 months because they think the attestation letter is not original. Clearly it is original (I checked the letter myself). I don't understand it...

Yah, this is my second application. They didn't accept my RA/TA work experience letter in the previous one. And Im not sure if they have sped up those who have applied before.

Hi Sarsanballa, I am new to this forum, I have some questions.

Did you submit your initial application with bank transaction history? Did they ask for any bank transaction history after you submitted your application? How long did it take for you to get PER?

Please reply, it would greatly help us.

Have you seen this?

"Backgrounder — Expression of Interest (EOI): Preparing for Success in 2015"

The Government believes Canada can and should compete actively to attract the best and brightest newcomers to resettle here. That’s why we are getting set to treat most immigration applications in a revolutionary new way. Having a job is the best path to economic integration. EOI will select immigrants based on the skills Canadian employers need and, in turn, should they pursue citizenship, they will be welcomed as equal members of the Canadian family.

As of January 2015, the EOI system will help switch from passive processing of applications in the order we get them to a prioritized system that gets in-demand people with the skills to succeed to Canada faster than ever before.

HR does not care about your RA working hours. Most probably they do not write anything about it in your letter. You only need to have another letter from your supervisor or graduate secretary(best) with some stamping that clearly states your real working hours for RAship.
That's only my opinion.

This is a welcome move. Countries such as Australia and New Zealand have such a system in place already.....

Hey BetsyZ,

Just wanna know that when you sent documents they asked for by email, have you got any confirmation from them to see if they received your documents and would consider them!! if yes, how long did it take to receive such a confirmation email ? Cuz, I know a person who has not received any response from them even after 2 weeks !!!! She has emailed them twice and asked them to confirm it but no response yet!!!

Thanks,

I received my new GCMS notes today. The only change is that the due date which was September 6, 2013 is updated to December 6, 2013. The due date is updated by FA01772.

When did you submit it? I submitted a GCMS request on Sept. 26 and still waiting to receive it.

That is better than nothing. At least shows that those people have something in my mind. Then, I will apply for my notes today. My old due date was Oct. 8th. Then, it is probably shifted to Jan. 6th. I should consider applying for our permits. That is unfortunate, of course.

Hi,

I emailed all the documents and as you may know the moment you send an email you will get the automated acknowledgment email.
I requested GCMS 2 months ago and it shows that they have received it.
Did she emailed the documents to OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca ? If so, she should have received the automated response.
