It would be MA in your case. Your highest educational qualification refers to the one you have completed successfully and not the one you have participated in.
Thanks so much for the clarification

One other question has come up (two actually):

1. Re SCHEDULE 3 Form Q6 Canadian Educational Credential or Educational Credential Assessment
I have an MA from a Canadian university and will submit my certificate for evidence. If, however, I want to get maximum points for education (or at least the maximum that I am entitled to) do I also have to provide a ECA for my BA. I can't tell if they consider only the highest degree (i.e. the MA) or whether they consider earlier degrees too.

2. How do I enter my username status on the spreadsheet? I wanted to make sure first...!

Thanks

Went to the MP office yesterday to know my application status. They called me back and said there is no movement on my file after August (just updated the RCMP results) but one good thing is that they said they will clear all the 2012 application in next six months.

If that is true, it is a good news.

I really hope so. We have waited a long time. You have not even received your MR after about 15 month, and I am entering my month 20.

Guys I have a question that is not related to immigration. Have any of you entered Canada before (not from US) with the Canadian visa inside an expired passport in addition to a new passport (without visa)?

Yes. That is fine as long as your visa is valid.

Yes it will be valid.
Have you experienced that personally? Was it from a country other than US?

Some CIC officers came to our school (University of Waterloo) last week, and they said TA/RA was no longer accepted, but I really doubt that it is the case (again, if anyone can show me parts of IRPR/A that states TA/RA is not accepted anymore, they are welcomed to share it with the forum; it is very explicit and clear for CEC, but not for FSWP, so I think the officers were getting it confused; again, just my opinion). We need more data on people that applied under the new rules, and none of us here has reached the stage where we can definitely confirm whether TA/RA work experience is still accepted. TA/RA definitely classifies as skill level A work experience though, so it should, in theory, be accepted, unless if anyone can point me to the part of the law that states otherwise.

http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/index.html

Hint: it's NOT subsection 87.1(3), since it pertains only to the previous subsection (87.2), which defines how a person belongs to the Canadian Experience Class.

What are the odds that CIC may apply this new rule retroactively to 2012 applicants (June-December)? Is this even a possibility given that they haven't removed NOC 4012 from the list of eligible occupations??. I understand that it is more of a wait and watch situation as of now...

1. You do not need an ECA if your highest credential is Canadian. The ECA is more of a degree equivalency measure to see if an international degree measures up-to the standard of a Canadian one. Just provide evidence of completion for your MA..

2. You do not have administrative rights to do so. Request the admin to add you

Yes, do not worry.
Thanks a lot. I actually got the same answer when I called the border services today. But I just wanted to make sure from someone who did go through it before :)

I am new to the forum. I am a 3rd year Phd student applying under FSW after 2 yrs Phd. I am claiming TA/RA as my work experience. I have been at the university 4 yrs now, as I also did my masters there under the same supervisor. The university pays me $25000 per yr. However on my T4 it is $8000 (where only TA money is accounted for) and the rest (such as RA, scholarships, grants, etc) which is $17000 goes to the T4A form. My supervisor's reference letter will state my RA duties and mention my annual payment on $25000 so its not a problem. And he put 20 hrs of work pr week. But I am worried about the different info on the T4 and my Reference letter. Any advice?
Just make sure you make it clear that parts of your funding would show up on T4 and others on T4A. If possible, also include copies of your T4A forms, and try to ensure that every number checks out with whatever your supervisor or HR has written on the letters of reference.
Thanks for the reply my friend

But I have 2 more questions.

i) Since my income is low (i.e. $8000 on T4 as opposed to $17000 on T4A), and my supervisor specified $25000 in total pr year with 20 hrs of work per week, would the Immigration Officer, try to only count the working time for the T4 amount, thus giving me less working experience hours (since he has all the documents , i.e. T4A, T4, Ref. letter)?

ii) Do I have to send all my T4's , T4A's since I have been in Canada and . as well as, all NOA from CRA taxes?
