Hi Folks,
I got my PP back today. :) Visa and COPR stamped on 27th May.
Congrats!!.this makes you the first Indian to get PR on this forum i believe (maybe i'm wrong!)

My ecas now says
medical results have been received (by the way i did my medicals on May 23, 2013)...but i'm still waiting for my PCCs >:(

Hi guys,

Today I received an email to pay Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) and also to submit the original copy of the police certificate associated to the translation that I have submitted with my package. But the link that they have sent me to follow in order to pay the fee is not working. It says that the page was not found. Does anybody know how can I solve the problem?
Thanks.

Thanks anjuku. Yes, I guess so. :)

Congrats, man!!! That was super fast compared to mine :) I guess paying off RPRF way before PPR does indeed help (it took a while for the proof of payment to be attached to your file, and they cannot issue you visa before this fee is paid).

So far, mkrp21 and TyrusX (both paid RPRF way in advance before sending passport) got their trackers activated after 19 days only, but I had to wait 27 days. So for those who have already gotten medical request (or even document request from FA01772; or if you have received your GCMS, and it is stated you have passed selection factor), it is probably not a bad idea to also pay for your RPRF as well (if, God forbid, your file is rejected, you are still entitled for a refund).

Congrats :) The RPRF email was generated automatically, and it was buggy as it contained the wrong link. Use the following

Once again, congratulations, and don't delay the payment.

Honestly speaking this is really a complicated issue. One of my friend had this experience. I can share that story, my friend has a sister who had some medical issues (they applied in family class), CIC gave them a choice either you can withdraw your application or you have take to the responsibility of all medical expenses of your sister. Canadian Govt. won't bear any medical expenses for her, if you agree then we can give you the visa. They agreed and got the visa without her health coverage. It happened in 2009/10 I guess. Hope this will make u to feel better.
I suggest you better to go for medical and face the situation.

Thanks for sharing the story. I know it is complicated. I may also go see a lawyer

Thank asbereth,
But I did not pay RPRF in advance. I paid it the same day of sending my passport. Still my tracker was activated soon.. I think, CPP is working at a faster pace now.

Dang, you just shot down my theory, but that's okay. I'm still glad you got yours back much faster :D

Thanks asbereth :)
I paid the fee and sent them the receipt right away.

Hi all,

I just find the following requirement on the cic website:
"PhD applicants are subject to the same selection criteria as any other FSWP applicant, including minimum language thresholds, having either a completed Canadian educational credential or a completed foreign credential with an ECA, and work experience requirements (i.e. one year of continuous full-time paid experience in a single NOC 0, A or B occupation)."

I am not sure what the last sentence means... Is the the TA/RA regarded as an eligible kind of "one year of continuous full-time paid experience in a single NOC 0, A or B occupation" ? Otherwise how can a phd get the experience before graduation...
Anyone could clarify this for me, I really appreciate it :)
