Applicant from PhD program after 5 Nov, 2011 connect here to get status

I updated my RAship and another work experience by sending a letter in June 2012. I sent them by mail. I don't know if it reached there or not. But they ignored it. Now, I'm preparing a letter to ask them why they did not consider my updated letter, while it is absolutely OK to send complementary documents. How can I better claim this? Any idea?

By the way in their email they say: "the list of duties contained in your letter of reference dated November 22, 2012 do not match the actions in the lead statement and a substantial number of the main duties under the NOC code you selected – NOC 4122."

What is the lead statement?

The lead statement is the first lines giving a general definition for each NOC code. For example, the lead statement for the NOC 4012 is :"Post-secondary teaching and research assistants assist university professors, community college and CEGEP teachers and other faculty members in teaching and research activities at universities and colleges."

BTW, how do you know that sending complementary documents is acceptable?

Also I called CIC in June2012, they gave me the Address of Ottawa office, but they told me wait a little and then send your documents since now Ottawa office is very busy.

I think these two clearly implies that we are allowed to send additional/complementary documents.

I JUST GOT MEDICAL REQUEST. I am almost having a heart attach because my problems with my co-supervisor (that moved away and wants me to move to another country with him) were really upsetting me. I am glad!

I talked with two immigration consultants today, and both said that it is okay if one sends supplementary documents. I would say, one possible answer for your case is that your mail was lost there since during that time they were very busy. You should have sent your new letter by e-mail.

yes i agree...by additional documents i think they mean documents that weren't available at the time of your application...for example if you weren't married at the time of application and then got married you have to send them that info.....

TyrusX, you only showed one month of bank history? I wonder if what they do is they check periodically the account you provided (not sure if this was even legal), and only sent request when they figured out that in the account you gave them, you didn't have sufficient amount any more?

I don't think this makes sense, I was asked to show 6-month history although we have more than 20k in accounts we originally showed.

How do you know that? Have you ever tried? He has just modified his first work letter. He has not added any new work experience.

I don't think this makes sense, I was asked to show 6-month history although we have more than 20k in accounts we originally showed.

yes, but did you have the 20K all this time in your account?...we just think they have a way of verifying this without us knowing and then when they see they amount isn't there for the whole period, they send this request so that they can reject the application based on our response...it's just a speculation...

well i know for a fact they called up the bank in my home country verifying the details we had provided...i don't know if its because privacy laws are not as strict back home...

They refused to accept my work experience letter from my home country and rejected me on June 2012, then I met a MP and he asked me to provide a more detailed letter, he submitted my letter to ottawa (he had some connections there) but they sent an email and explained that they are not going to accept any work experience related letter after the primary submission.
Anyways I think it is really based on the officer, maybe in other cases it works
