ok...thanks for the info...so you clearly had way more than they required..well we'll see if my theory is right depending on if they ask me an updated bank statemet...i showed 32k for a family of 3...the required amount for a family of 3 (as per their website) in CD$ andthe rest back home...

My friend TJ has about 30 k and he still got 6 months bank history request :/ but I believe it can make sense to have more as well.

Congrats TyrusX!! Finally some good news coming in the way...

Off the topic, about the co-supervisor. Previously in my department there were professors moving to other countries, and the students can choose between following the prof. or staying. But even if the students choose to stay, the supervisor is still responsible for supervising the work until the students finish the degree (univ. policy), either by telephone meetings or in-person meetings once in a while. I guess it depends on univ. and your field of study, but just check with your department policy to see if anything is written there. Neverthelss, all the best!!!

I know. My problem is more of feedback. He doesn't reply my e-mails at all and because he moved he seems not to feel responsible for me anymore.

TyrusX, you only showed one month of bank history? I wonder if what they do is they check periodically the account you provided (not sure if this was even legal), and only sent request when they figured out that in the account you gave them, you didn't have sufficient amount any more?

oh well...guess my theory is wrong :o..but then we are working with an n=2 here...so maybe increase the sample size?? ;D

Too bad...Is there any university policy that the prof. MUST be responsible for the students no matter what?? It is the case for me (although I chose to follow my supervisor but there are other students who did not). Anyways, I hope it'll all sort out. Maybe try calling him...I understand how hard it is to handle a "long-distancerelationship" with your supervisor...

i think asbereth has a point here.., it seems to be more than coincidence that they ask bank statements to the people who actually don't have that required amount in their accounts any moreand leave out the people who are OK with providing statements since they have that amount sitting there all the while.. ::)

Congrats TyrusX !!!

Did you get medical request by email or by regular post mail ?

just one month bank history. I applied with about 30 k, being 16 here and the rest from back home. I was lucky because I got a huge deposit in September because they forgot to pay me during spring and summer so I got 4 salaries at once and I got the statement before paying tuition.

That's probably the case, though the legality of such cases can easily be questioned. If I'm not mistaken, even your bank back home received a call from them, right?

If that's the case, I would probably receive the bank statement request soon too (if I pass eligibility), since I moved a significant amount of money from one bank (the bank I used when submitting the statement) into another.

I provided over a year of work experience as a FULL TIME TA from back home. (but I need to review the ref, letter).
I provided RA and TA experience of part time by hours that I expect it is non continuous of full time job of 7 months or more. that covers my work experience since 2009.
I did not count the research awards but I provided the letters only. I am not quiet sure if the cic will count them or not because it does not show hours nor rates.
Sorry, I hope we find advice from folks here.

In addition, in 2012 my RA contract ended and my study permit expired, thus I had to issue a new one and a re-new my SIN. But the service canada ppl asked me for a RA contract. Since May 2012 I am receiving an award and I am not on a contract. Thus I can not renew my SIN.

yes you are absolutely right...that's why i think they have their ways of checking these things ;)..
and i don't think just moving money from an account in your name to another account in your name will be an issue...but they may ask the history for verification...

Assumption:
- If you did not hear from the CPP for 364 days from the date your app. package reached CIO, then you are going to hear from them on the 365's (if it is not a weekend).

Who agrees?!

CONGRATS.

AND EXTRA GOOD NEWS.

I JUST GOT MEDICAL REQUEST. I am almost having a heart attach because my problems with my co-supervisor (that moved away and wants me to move to another country with him) were really upsetting me. I am glad!

Congratulations TyrusX, um so happy for you :)

Thank you for sharing this nice news!!
I am so glad to know that. Congratulations!!!
Did you send any supporting or additional documents after you sent your app, package?

Out of scope; To solve the co-supervisor issue, you may need to see the dean and lawyer of the student union, but move slowly, be calm, I guess you may take a few months to find a new co-supervisor or try to find a solution to continue your degree under the same topic with the permission of your co-supervisor, take into consideration you can not use his ideas with out his permission at this time, as far as I know. Try ask and meet ppl who can advice officially based on regulations. hope you all the best.

Did you send any supporting or additional documents after you sent your app, package? I mean without any request.
