Could you please help me to better understand about my CAIPS? they mentioned I've got 69 points but I am not sure because of date of update.

Nice dude, you passed selection factor, and your work experience most likely has been accepted. Congratulations :)

Unless they don't accept your POF (or if RCMP screening takes forever for some reasons; it's probably not a bad idea to now try to get a finger-print based RCMP PCC if you don't have criminal records, especially if your name is a common name such as John Smith or Jane Doe), most likely you'll get your medical really really soon, probably even before criminality is even over.

Do you mind sharing the wording of your assessment (after blanking out private information).

Anyway, I too had my RCMP screening done on the same day they requested for POF. The following are relevant notes concerning RCMP screening from my GCMS (under 'ACTIVITY'):

ACTIVITY: 1
Sub-Activity/Activity Type: RCMP Screening
Status: No Reportable Trace
Updated Date: 2013/02/27

ACTIVITY: 3

Apparently, it took them one day to get 'No Reportable Trace' for my record. I guess it helps not having common name in Canada :)

Hey Guys

An update. I was asked to provide bank statement and 6 months account activity as document request. Another good news for Quebec applicants after maytheflower. But I did send in my job offer letter from outside of Quebec to them.

Don't know still what will be the fate of 2nd year Quebec applicants.

Please update the tracker.
Congrats!
All done! BTW, when did you get the POF request?

I ordered my CAIPS April 4th, and received it today.
But I can't understand it.
There is alot of information. I received my film number June 2012.
Additional documents were requested Feb 2013.
I confused about different dates.
Could you please help me and let me know which parts are the main ones?

Thanks in advance.
The most important part is to read the notes, almost the last 2 pages.
You can also figure out the due date for the medical request, you can find it under the activities section.

Would you please share your timeline?

Hi Asberath--- Congratulations man for ur success. I still have not get anything back from them after my document request (17th Jan,13), on March 20th they have sent me an e-mail that they have not received my documents which I already have sent in February 25th, 13. I was lucky that I have confirmed from them that they have received my documents just few days earlier before March 20th when they said they didn't receive my documents. I have forwarded that confirmation email and later they had apologized for the confusion. Lastly, they said they attached my documents with my file and it is in que. From then waiting and waiting with huge frustration. Do you have any suggestion man? Many thanks for your continuation still in the forum and sharing ur experience with us. Say hi to Tyrusx if you r in touch with him. ......Cheers! Kazi

I received my file number around 7 days after I've submitted my doc at 15 June 2012.
Then additional doc was requested at 28 January 2013.
I applied for GCMS note and received that yesterday;
1. At first section they mentioned I've got 69 points, Eligibility (updated at 15 Dec 2012).
2. In admissibilities section which nothing was done indicated Criminality and Medical due date is 15 June 2013 (exactly a year after receiving the file number).
3. In activities section; something was done which mostly came back to 15 June 2012 or 7 Dec 2012. Nothing about medical (there is not even an option to show a due date for the medical).
4. In Note section; last note was updated 18 March 2013 which labeled "Adm/" I do not know what that means: Hopefully "Admitted" :D

BTW, I was wondering if you could let me know your idea about my conclusion (considering the updated dates):

I have gained 69 points and I should not worry any more about the points (the last update was Dec 2012).
Probably I should receive the medical and criminality requests at 15 June 2013.

What's your idea buddies? let's discus about that, and please share your experience.

1. If you wanna make sure that you gained 69 points you should have two eligibility review. The first one should be done close to the date that you got PER and the other one should be done after. More important you should have a note written by your officer in the last pages to confirm that you passed the eligibility.
2. Admissibility I think would be the last section to be updated.
3. In activities section check criminality, I submitted my documents on 11 May 2012 and my GCMS notes showed that they started my criminality right after they requested additional documents on Feb. 06. By the way, I think whether it is started or not has nothing to do with the admissibility.
4. After all, I hope you interpretation is correct. :)

Good luck

I've calculated the total hours that she has worked to the present, according to the student stipend part, here what I did.

Code:
Sep. 1,2010 To Apr 30, 2011 16.95 hour/week $1250.00/month 16.95*34.5=584.78
May 1,2011 To May 30, 2011 16.62 hour/week $1250.00/month 16.62*04.3=071.5
June 1,2011 To Aug 31, 2011 21.00 hour/week $1580.00/month 21.00*13.0=273
Sep. 1,2011 To Apr 30, 2012 12.74 hour/week $0958.33/month 12.74*34.5=439.5
May 1,2012 To Nov 30, 2012 12.49 hour/week $0958.33/month 12.49*31.5=393.4
Dec. 1,2012 To Dec.31,2012 13.36 hour/week $1025.00/month 13.36*04.5=060
Jan. 1,2013 To Apr.30,2012 09.45 hour/week $0752.00/month 09.45*17.0=160.6
Total hours=1980
Obviously, she has worked more than 1950 hour. I think you can figure a way to write the average for the salary and the hours per week or month, and you do not provide the HR confusing letter, use it just as a proof for her department to show the total worked hours.

*Edit*
Or you can write something like this,
Good Luck!

Ya, make sure whether it's Sydney or Ottawa who had assessed your file (since it's on December, most likely it was from Ottawa, in which case, congratulations :) . Also, bioleaching, if you don't mind, can you share the wording of the notes that awarded you 69 points?

The reason why you had not yet heard anything back from them was because your later due date. I would say you're lucky to have applied in June rather than, say, April or March, since some of these March or April applicants are still waiting to be assessed for selection factor :)

bioleaching said:

I think 'Adm' means that your admissibilities are under (or awaiting) review. This, in my opinion, is usually initiated after you have gained enough points. But then again, your eligibility also depends on your settlement funds, which was why eligibility is not yet 'passed', but still 'in progress', despite having more than 67 points.

Thanks, man :)

About your application, let's hope that they have at least passed your selection factor (number of points). Try ordering your CAIPS to see if this has indeed happened. bioleaching applied in June, and he already passed selection factor, so since you applied at around the same time, they have probably assessed your file as well, but since they cannot issue you visa earlier than March or April applicants, your file is awaiting for further processing (admissibilities).

There is obviously the question of minimum wage. If the HR letter shows that she's making only 750 - 900 dollars per month, while working for 40 hours per week, then her hourly wage would be way below the minimum wage of 10.25 dollars per hour (in Ontario, not sure about other provinces). I'm not sure if this is going to be a problem, but it's probably best to claim less hours.

If you claim fewer hours than what's written on the HR letter, they wouldn't care too much, since they would just give you less number of points for work experience, so I like N_O's recalculation of the number of hours (since it also ensures it's above minimum wage). Rather than just showing average, though, I would still keep it term by term, or break it down for each period which has the same number of hours and the salary per month (like N_O has done here).

How many years of experience does she need though? If she only needs one year, then this breakdown is good. If she needs at least two years, then we would need to think of something else.

salam20 said:

Ya, this is probably the most important part of the work experience letter. If you have job duties mismatch, they will probably not even care about your wage or number of hours, and go straight for rejection.

PhD stream will be reset starting May 4. Not sure if this is bad or good news, but you'd need educational evaluation (dated AFTER April 17 2013), so those preparing to re-apply under the new system better get ready with their ECA. Also, if you score at least 8 on listening, and at least 7 on everything else, the new point system would be much better compared to the current one. If you get 23 or 24 out of 28 for language skills, have a Master's degree, and under 35, you only need 1 year of work experience under the new system if you do not get any adaptability points.

I think also the same, if you got the 69 points sometime late, it means Ottawa has assessed your application but they need now to check the fund, which I think it was the requested document in January, to pass the eligibility. I think you will hear again from them in June. Hopefully, it will be a medical request.

Would you please share the full timeline? What were all the requested docs?

I do not think it will make any effect on the processing times, although they didn't reach the capacity but they still have 1000s to process :)
