A quick question about ordering CAIPS. In IMM5563E form, section B-1, do I need to check the box for "proof included" that I'm currently living in Canada? Or it implies that if I fill a Canadian mailing address? Thanks.

It seems they have considered Feb., Mar., Apr., and May applicants as "backlog". So they are processing June and July applicants on time. Canada Immigration has done this several times before. I don't call it weird. It's the pinnacle of stupidity....

I kinda felt the same way...

phdapplicant, congratulations!!! If I'm not mistaken, your case has been rejected by Ottawa once, before you found out that one of your relatives had just become a PR (or citizen)? Do you mind sharing your actions and your timelines? I think we all can learn a lot from your case :)

Thanks guys!

Yes, my application was initially rejected by Ottawa in June as they refused to give me 5 adaptability points and didn't accept my work experience oversea (due to the fact that the Human Resource Department at my former companies couldn't specify my duties in their letter). Fortunately I had a new Canadian relative just a few months ago before the refusal and did actually notify Sydney about that. After I appealed to Ottawa, they reverted my case for having the Canadian relative and then sent me a medical request within a few days.

My timeline is in the Google Worksheet ;)

I was wondering if we could apply for CAIPS after getting refusal, just to see what had happened during the process.

no only you can but you should.

What's the best way of maintaining funds in an account--a separate account with the required amount or one which shows transactions?
If they ask for six months' history, the first one will show an almost static amount.

I don't think I did.

i used a separate account...but in the covering letter with my application i mentioned this..i said i'm keeping aside XX dollars solely for the purpose of immigration in a SB account..i also said this amount will be there till the immigration process is finalised..so basically there is not much activity in that account..we just transfer the interest to our checking account every month...but i don't think that matters...if they ask for a 6 month statement, it'll just show the same amount for 6 months with just the interest coming in and going out...i believe that's fine...

Thanks anjuku. It's good you clarified it right in the beginning. I think if I start a separate account now I might have to show the proof of funds for that too, like transfer from the other account. Though I would definitely prefer a separate SB.
