Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hey guys, I'm still waiting to hear from the Embassy after my medicals have been submitted to the embassy last Nov. 17, 2014. When I applied (paper based) last Oct. 30, 2014, the processing time for the Manila office was listed at 13 weeks at the CIC site. I randomly checked back, and now it seems they updated the times last Nov. 14, 2014 and changed it to 15 weeks. If this is true, I would be hearing from them only on the 1st- 2nd week of February. By then, it'll be a full month from when my classes begin (Jan 5, 2015).

Can I ask, for those who applied and those who had submitted their medicals on and after Nov. 14, 2014, have you heard from the Embassy? Do you have any updates on your application? I just want to see if we're all affected (so to speak) by the new 15 week processing time.

I wish we could contact the embassy directly, but even if we did, I have a feeling we would be denied of any info, especially since our papers are still within the "normal" 15 week processing time.

Hi, if youve done ur medical exams na, next step is them to evaluate ur docs. Dont worry too much coz it wont take 13-15 weeks. Usually 1-1.5 months, so u'll gonna make it before ur classes begin. Good luck!

Hello kailangan ba ng letter galing sa titirhan ko sa canada when entering Canada? or just provide them with the address lang?

Hi, the immigration will just ask u where are u gonna stay. It'll be helpful to have a letter or just write down the address, contact person, contact number. Good luck!

Hi, what i did was i got my MMR vaccine and requested for a certificate, tho i wasnt asked for it at the port of entry, but just to be safe and sure kasi thats what they instructed at the clinic dba.

Yes, new requirement daw ng Canadian immigration ito kase may outbreak ng measles daw sa isang place sa Canada and yun possible carrier saw nito is some one from the Philippines; So i think to be safe pa vaccine ka and make sure to have a certification of that Vaccine, I had mine done na sa St. Luke's.

agree with Vash, Basta readable na hindi tatamarin yun mag reread, kung baga easy on the eye siya. Basta be mindful that VO deals with a lot of application, so they need to read a lot of SOP, so it need to be appealing
