Hello po, anyone po who had to travel to manila for biometrics? Pa share naman po ng experience. Is it possible to do a round trip to and fro manila? Coming from a GCQ province?

It took just around 20 minutes sa partner ko last March 28. 8:30 AM schedule.

Hello guys,
I’m currently waiting for may LOA for January 2022 intake. I will lodge my application in regular stream. I have a few questions po.
1. When po ang best time mag apply ng student visa?
2. 37 years old na po ako.

Hello Kabayan,

1. The best time to apply po is when you have all your documents ready. Check each items on the checklist to make sure wala ka na po missing documents. Complete applications usually take less time to process.
2. Ako po ay 47 nung mag apply.
3. Spouse and children are strong ties to home country. Much better if you can present property documents.
Other docs such as properties, can be used as ties to home country.

Sponsor ko yung aunt ko and I am currently staying with her. Sinubmit ko citizenship ID nya, bank statements, COE, payslips, ITR, notarized statutory of declaration, titles that she own, vehicle registration certificates, marriage certificate (if married ofc) and birth certificate.

Sir, do you have kids with you in Canada? I'm asking because my kids are with me now and they're studying also in Canada under a Visitor Record (no study permit needed for minors if the parent is either with a study or work permit). I was wondering if the kids are still allowed to study when we're on implied status while waiting for the PGWP approval? While I'm on implied status, what would be the status of my wife as well who is currently on SOWP?

Hello Kabayan,

Yes, kasama ko po anak ko. When I applied for my wife’s SOWP, I also applied for my son’s SP for secondary school. Same expiration po ng SOWP ng wife ko at SP ng anak ko sa SP ko, which was July 2020. So, when I finished my program last April 2020, may valid SP pa po anak ko hanggang sa matapos nya grade 12 ng June 2020. I applied for my PGWP in June 2020 kasabay ng SOWP extension ng wife ko at change of status naman to vistor sa anak ko (habang inaayos pa namin yung college application nya dito). Sabay sabay po na approve lahat in Sept 2020.

I would suggest isabay mo na din po sa PGWP application mo ang para sa family mo. This was what my college recommended after I received my completion letter. Advantage of applying as a family, you do not need to provide 3months paystub when applying for them. Saka you will have to change their status to visitor if hindi mo sila sinabay sa application mo.

Thank you sir for your quick reply. Have a few more questions though.

1. I'm wondering why you needed to apply for SP for your kids if hindi pa college? Dito kasi sa link ( https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/guidelines-on-minor-children.html ), hindi kailangan. Kaya when I applied for my SP, kasabay ang SOWP ng wife ko and visitor visas ng kids ko. They are currently studying using the Visitor Record only, wala naman problem.

2. Habang naka apply pa PGWP and SOWP extension nyo, pwede pa din mag work si misis under implied status? Or she has to stop working?

3. Since naka change to Visitor status po ang anak nyo, when he goes to college, apply din po sya ulit ng SP for college naman?

4. Ano po yung 3 months paystub? What is it for?

Yes, sabay ko po gagawin application ko ng PGWP with my whole family. I'm just checking my options. My eldest will be finishing Grade 12 also right before I finish my school. So parang same timeline tayo sir, when I finish, tapos din anak ko sa Grade 12, so we will be fixing his college. Kaya I need to know also pano gagawin sa pag apply ng college nya.

Thank you again sir.

Hello,

I am asking this for my friend. She's currently holding a Work Permit here in Canada. She has her son in the Philippines, if she wants to bring her son here, how's the process?

Thanks in advance!

Hello ulit kabayan,

1. Before I applied for my wife’s SOWP and my son’s permit, I went to the local district school board to enroll my son to grade 12 in advance. The school board said that my son needs a SP before they accept him. So I attached this to my family’s application particularly my son’s SP.

2. Yes po, once on implied status pwede po mag work pareho. Pero last year po kasi was the height of the pandemic and lockdowns. So wala po kami work pareho nung time na yun. I got a job at a factory one week before my PGWP approval.

3. Yes po, my son will need his own SP. Dito na po inside Canada ang application. When you apply for your PGWP, you can apply for a change of status for your child (unless ready na rin po sya for SP application). This is to ensure that your son will not be out of status. Kelangan mag overlap yung SP nya at yung application for change of status.

4. Kapag po hindi kasabay ang SOWP application sa PGWP application, you need to change spouse status to visitor. Then after approval of PGWP you need to provide 3months worth of paystub in order to apply for SOWP. Not practical na isa lang may work if you are renting because of the monthly expenses. Even if you are earning a lot, a single paycheck may not always be enough. Because the higher your income bracket, the higher the income tax deduction.
