Hey quick question, does anyone know if ordering GCMS notes slower down the processing time ?
Requesting notes has no impact on the processing of your application. The GCMS notes are released under the Access to Information Act, and the entire process is dealt with the ATIP division of IRCC.

Thank you for you answer @legalfalcon. Is there anything one could do besides ordering notes? I haven't received my RPRF request (which probably means eligibility isn't cleared yet after more than a year (June 10 AOR)) so I'm guessing ordering 4th set of notes is useless (ordered 3 so far with zero updates)...I raised a CSE and I didn't get an answer as well (Paris VO). Thanks again..
Unfortunately there are some LVOs that are very slow, London and Paris are a few of them. There is nothing much you can do except request notes from time to time and see if there has been any progress.

Also write emails to CPC Ottawa, and raise CSE. This strategy combined will be effective.

I mean ofcrse it give the update but CIC agents told me once that ordering notes can slow down the processing of the application.
It's almost 3 months i have received and passed my medical. After that nothing. I'm not sure if i should order GCMS notes or not.
Requesting GCMS notes is a personal choice, but your right under the Access to information act.
You can request GCMS notes or just wait it out.

First off when you call IRCC call centre, they are not agents of IRCC officers, they are call centre employees like any other for a company. They have limited information, based on what they are trained and will tell you what IRCC ask them to say.

Lately, there has been a high volume of GCMS notes request, because IRCC's MyCIC is pathetic in letting applicants know the exact status. This is why this is the new theory being propagated. Having said that, IRCC will never write this in any of their email communication.

Think why?

Hi LegalFalcon,
Could you let me know the following regarding getgcms.com website:
1) Why keep the notes for 25 days on the server. Why not delete immediately after sending them?
Thanks

This policy was adopted because in some cases the applicant may new receive the email, or the Emil may bounce and thereby requesting the GCMS notes to be sent again. Only to cater to such eventualities, a time frame of 25 days was adopted.

Further, as per SOP for the PIDEPA, this is the recommended duration.

Ok thanks for the info.

However if you could answer the following:
1)Does the organization keep a separate copy, use them for analysis or do employees go over these notes?
2)Once the notes are delivered to the person, can the consent form be used by the organization again ? (as validity is for a year).

The team comprises of the team which is responsible for running the operations and a legal team. The team which runs the operations, simple procure the notes and dispatch them. Only when a legal opinion is requested, will the legal team (lawyers) review review it. Apart from this, no on goes over the notes or any information.

The consent form can only be used once. After it has been filed with IRCC, it cannot be re-used, as it is invalid.
