This is a terribly late response and I apologize in advance. I'm coloring a few of the steps in bright red just to show the importance.

I took the following steps and my son was added to my application within a week... this is after I wasted over a month trying to do the same through CSE.... I got my COPR in March, no hassles.

1- Have the following docs ready...
  • Son's birth certificate
  • Son's passport
  • Son's upfront medical (in case of EE)
  • Updated POF to reflect new family composition
2- Call CIC and figure out where your application currently is... inside or outside Canada (you'll need this info in the next step)

3- Raise a webform selecting change in family composition.. (NOTE: webform is different from CSE) Attach the above docs in the webform and submit. Wait for reply with further steps.

The next steps might be different for you but this is what I was requested to submit in 30 days.

4- Go to the online payment option and submit the dependent Processing Fees (NOTE: there is no RPRF for new borns or dependents below a certain age). Make sure you save a pdf of the receipt.. you will need it later

5- Complete IMM 0008 (to be completed by primary applicant ONLY). Complete this on your computer... Click Validate (this will create new pages with bar codes)... Print out the document.. Sign where necessary... put bar code pages on top and rescan (first page should be bar code pages and last page with your signature)

6- Complete IMM 5406 (to be completed by primary applicant AND spouse)... complete on your computer, print, sign and scan

7- Create an LOE explaining the change in family composition, also mention all the documents your attaching: birth certificate, passport, invoice, upfront medical, POF, IMM 0008, IMM 5406 for primary, IMM 5406 for spouse

8- Now you need to upload.. Go to MyCIC and check your application for placeholders for your newborn... Upload using the respective placeholders, double check and submit.

In the coming day's you'll get another message in your account as acknowledgment and your child will be added to the dependents section on your application.

Hello Mate

I validated the IMM 008 form and it says that if I have made an online application, which is what Express Entry is, so I don't need to sign the form by hand.

"If you are applying online, you do not need to sign your application form by hand. You will be asked to provide an electronic signature once you are ready to transmit your documents to CIC."

Could you please advise if I can simply upload the filled forms as the prompt says.

U would not believe it - my PR application got updated last night and there is a placeholder where I need to upload all the documents and forms within 30 days.

Wow that’s great! Did you write to that CPC email? If not, then it seems CIO is not lazy at all ;)

No, I didn't write to CPC, so we can infer that CIO isn't lazy ;-)

Could you please guide me on how I can include child's photo in one single document?

In my case they didn’t ask for child’s photo. I guess you’ll have to compress it in a PDF as well...

Putting a jpeg JPEG file in a pdf file is a compatibility issue. How do u overcome that? How to put a jpg file in a pdf file bundle?

just convert JPG to PDF. There are hundreds of apps for that. The specifications of the jpg file might not remain but I think it is generally acceptable. If you are unsure of it, you can raise a webform with the original JPG file as a backup.

are you sure they do ask for baby’s photo AND ask you to upload it with other documents together as one file? Coz in my case they never asked for baby’s photo... only baby’s photo page of passport

Yes mate. Converted jpg to pdf and have put it in the same kit with Fee, Forms (Imm 008 and IMM5406), BC, Passsport and Medicals in the placeholder that was available.

I also created a CSE Webform to share photo and PoF.

Hi guys I have a question I had my permanent residence approved NOV 2019 but couldn't go for my landing because I had a baby. I contacted IRCC via a webform and I got a reply asking me to fill IMM008 and IMM5406 my child's birth certificate her passport page and all other Documents which I did and sent to the Email provided in DEC 2019.Since then there has been no reply. When ever I call they keep saying there is no processing time for that. I just wanna know the wait time for those who had similar case. I'm just tired and frustrated.

yes I did that too couple of times already, but they told me to just wait and nothing. my 6 months timeline will reach 100% tomorrow, and it will be 73 days since I informed them of my baby, I feel so helpless
