Actually, my application has been processed in 2012/11/30.

I forgot to mention that when I called the CIC this morning, the person told me that I am approximately 3 weeks from having my file reviewed. So I'm guessing that for all those who's application were received around September 15th, CIC would review them at the same time as mine?
Yes you are right, they have only just got on to mine last week. So I am now just waiting for it to be reviewed.

That is good news if it has been added to your file. Now it's just being patient, as you said, for the next part. It shouldn't be to long.

When I have called, they say that it has not been added to my file yet.

Hola,

Thanks, kidvicious, for updating the spreadsheet! Somehow it makes waiting easier when there are numbers and dates to stare at. Hope everyone is managing to stay calm during this stressful period!

When I have called, they say that it has not been added to my file yet.
Actually, they did tell me a bit more, but it upset me, and I had to digest it before I could talk about it.

Here it is...

When she told me that they had received the CSQ, I answered that I was already aware of that, since MICC sends it to them electronically on 02/07.

I told her that what I wanted to know was when can I expect to receive the AIP.

She asked me to be patient and said "if you have not received your AIP by June 11th, call us again, then we will act upon it. Before a delay of 4 months, we cannot do anything".

I must admit that after she said that, I was so disappointed that I did not know what to say, other than "thank you" and hang up.

June 11 is really so far away, and I am very disappointed. I do not understand why it would take so long. I was ready for a wait, but this is driving me insane. :'(

I can understand why you would be dissapointed by news like that. To be honest I don't think the call centre know very much information. For my CSQ, they said that it hadn't been added to my file yet and that it can take up to a month, to call back in a month. 2 other call centre advisors thought that it would be soon as they are sending out approvals up until the 20 August 2012. That should mean that approvals should be getting sorted for our files. I'm guessing they work on them in date order?!

I would just give it a few more weeks. I'm not saying that the AIP will be next week or the week after but the most time I am expecting is 2 months unless they make a mistake, as something can always go wrong.

All the call centre says is that your file is in progress but does that mean being worked on or not. I don't think they actually know.

I called the CIC call centre today and they again said that they cannot see my CSQ on file. They literally are checking through comments added by the CIC officers. I asked when the last comment was added to my file and he said November (so when they started processing my file).

I asked them if they carry on processing your file during the CSQ being issued and he said they did, they don't wait for the CSQ. The call centre guy said my file is all in order and all they are waiting for is the CSQ to be added to my file. Then I will be sent the AIP.

They also said that it has been over 6 months since they received my application, so I should get the AIP soon.

I honestly think that for my file, I have an officer who doesn't do any sort of comments or updates. ECAS still just says received, even though it is in process. Really they should be updating the comments on a regular basis, so the call centre know what stage they are at.

Like for example for mine they could write, sponsorship processed, just waiting for CSQ to be processed. Something like that, so the call centre at least know what is happening when we call.

I hate to contradict you, but I have a feeling that the persons who talk to us on the phone are ill informed and tell us just about anything.

Case in point...

The person who talked to you said that you will be sent the AIP once the CSQ is added to your file; the one who answered me said that they have my CSQ but it can take up to 4 months to review my file.
It should be either one or the other. I think that the person who answered me was being cautious, while yours was being nice.
I want real timelines, not approximation. Why is it so hard to do, I do not really understand that.

They received my application 8 months ago, and the person who talked to me never said that I should get the AIP soon. Never.

What does "soon" mean, anyway. This is very vague.

I am at a point where I find it very frustrating to call and try to get answers, because it makes things confusing, rather than clarifying matters.

If you check the timeline, AIP can either be almost immediate (happened to me) or may take 1, 2, or 3 months. I don't think they have any real protocol - I definitely don't think AIP comes straight after you get CSQ, I still think they get your officer to look over things in the file again.

Your right they don't have any information, my file has no comments added since November! You don't get the letter to apply to the MICC without them doing anything. Something should have been put in the comments.

Knowing that the call centre have nothing in my file to look at. All I can do is look at everybody else's timeline on here, to get some idea how long it takes on average.

There is no way the CIC officer will update my file until they send my AIP, which isn't very helpful.

Next time you phone you should ask them when the last comment was written in your file and what it was regarding. It should be this month and about the CSQ. They wouldn't know about it being added otherwise.

You got AIP really fast, but they asked you to redo your meds without explaining why. What a mess. :-\

At least, since you have your AIP, you were able to apply for RAMQ! That's a good thing, and I am happy for you. :)

I am not calling again, unless we are passed the 4 month delay (June 11). It's too depressing.

Hi! Haven't caught up on all of the posts in this thread yet, but I'm an American who lives in Saguenay with my Canadian husband. Application was received by CIC October 23, 2012. Received a letter from CIC January 28, 2013, stating they'd received his app to sponsor, and directing us to submit the undertaking to MICC. Sent that in on February 1 of this year. MICC has charged our credit card for the associated fee, and that's all I know at this point.

I'm a little frustrated, because I miss my family and don't feel safe visiting until I get my PR. Also, I'm trying REALLY hard to learn french. There's an excellent full-time language program for immigrants, but I won't be eligible for it until I get my PR. Who knows when that will be, and I live here NOW. Saguenay isn't Montreal. You assume people speak no english here, and are just pleasantly surprised when someone can help out a bit in english. I really need all the help I can get with french so I feel like I can meet people, have a social life, and be a real grown up again. *le sigh* It's been a long, cold winter for this displaced girl from Oklahoma. The husband's lucky he's so cute!
