If you got your study permit and approved for the visa, then you can go to your account on the IRCC website and change your date of studies there, you shouldn't have problems for changing the dates or your studies. You can research more after you got the study permit.

I'm not sure about the SDS program to be honest, but the study permit sounds crazy according to IRCC website it takes around 34 weeks! it might not be much accurate though. you can check the processing time here...

According to IRCC website, if your husband has a TRV or eTA then he will be permitted to travel with you. But if he plans to travel at a later date after your arrival to Canada then he needs a written authorization in order to be permitted to board a plane.

You should wait until you get your visa, I think you can also contact IRCC to check your process and ask for updates.

It doesn't say required in the visa application but most say it is hard to get the permit without this test. However they need a written proof that you are fluent in English that is why IELTS is a big help.
