Did anyone else get a ghost update? I’m a March 14 applicant, background check started July 17 and today GCKey says the app status is updated so i checked and there was no change. Confused what that actually means??

I got it as well. I am not sure what that actually means either. I thought they were asking for fingerprint but it is still processing BGC.

Urgent question: I was asked to provide criminal record check based on fingerprints, I did them here in Canada and received them today, but under the application type it's written landed immigrant status, and not spousal in Canada class, did the police headquarters made this mistake? Or it is just like that, I gave them the paper CIC sent to me when they requested the fingerprints check and they said we don't need that one, we will procces it here. I'm confused should I do another criminal check or send the one they gave me? It took two weeks to get it

I am sorry that I wouldn't b able to answer this question as we Quebec applicants haven't reached to the Background check at the moment. I guess you should ask this question in Whatsapp group chat.... I am sure someone will be able to help you there by answering your query/ question. thank you

I want to share the timeline with you guys:

Application received by CPC Mississauga: 20190314.
AOR by email sent to sponsor: 20190427 (yes, it's on Saturday, when I check status online, it said they started process my application on 20190426).
OWP returned on 20190513 due to insufficient funds. Dates on the letter was 20190508.
Submitted OWP to Edmonton centre on 20190514
OWP application submitted to Edmonton Centre on 20190516
Medical requested: 20190522
OWP application received: 20190613
Medical done: 20190613
Medical sent: 20190620
Medical received: 20190624
OWP: ETA 20190813

Today, we received request from CIC, they ask for two additional documents: 1. Proof of Relationship: You did not provide sufficient evidence of cohabitation. My wife hasn't got her OWP, which means she could not get a driver's license, without a driver's license, she could not do anything. The only document we have to provide evidence of cohabitation is the joint bank we have which we already submitted with our application in the first place. Everything else has only my name such as lease agreement, utility bills. I will have to re-submit the bank statement, hopefully they can take it; 2. Police Certificate: Provide an original police clearance certificate from France. My wife went school in France for two years, we have to find a way to get a police certificate from France.
Did u send them the proof yet ? if u could send more like: receipts showing the adress, letters from friends or famliy that u live together, anything that shows she lives there would be a plus..and also if u can provide the ontario photo id, gym membership card etc

My background check started today! So Nice to know something is happening, hopefully this won't take too long. I've no criminal record (already submitted police checks upfront) and am not part of any gangs etc.

How long did it take you all to pass the BGC?

Yeah I'm keeping everything crossed for us. :) ok if it's a month for someone with no criminal record then I won't expect an update any time soon then lol.

How can I add timeline on my signature?
Go to the My account area, which for you would say "BigH".
There's an option for Signature (2nd on the left beneath personal details).
Copy and Paste someone else's timeline into the signature
Modify accordingly with your own dates etc to make it your own.

Hi all,

I sent my application March 19th and received AOR around May 3rd. Unfortunately our OWP was returned the next week due to not sending a receipt form (Our bad) we resent the OWP application on May 17th but have heard nothing still. My wife called to find information on the processing, and they said that my eligibility was still being confirmed before the OWP would be approved. When I look at the application, which is linked to my gcKey account, I can see that the "Review of eligibility" is still in progress.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way I can check up on this process?

Thanks,

Rory
I have received the same feedback today. Timeline:
Submitted PR March 8th with OWP
OWP returned and resubmitted, received May 10th
Medical May 24
Medical passed June 12

They told me today that the OWP will only be issued once my sponsor has been verified as eligible. That has not started yet. When asked if that takes less than 1 month (since we're heading towards 4 month deadline) I was told there is no processing timeline for eligibility review. So frustrating as this is a new piece of information that has been given by support agent, something I had not heard before, despite having called about 5 times already.
