im so exhausted. I sent an email to MP no reply. I sent an email to Sean Fraser no reply, i sent an email to office of comissioner for gcms delay no response.I call IRCC i get nothing. I send multiple feedbacks in complains no action. I sent so many webforms nothing. I dont understand why even withdrawal is so difficult. It should be the most happiest and easiest thing to do "return the application to the applicant". Really dont know what to do. Does anyone have any idea ?

My oath is on Feb 23rd (ottawa), so I didnt really do it yet to expect a certificate, but there will most definitely be a delay because of the Trucker's demonstration in Ottawa

IRCC office is located on Queen's street, they sent an email to some people awaiting certificate saying that they are closed indefinitely and that it was out of their hands.

Now, to me it does not make sense for us to wait until whatever is happening with the truckers' situation is resolved to even start hoping that certificates will be printed, no one knows how long they will stay in downtown, and it is only reasonable for IRCC to find alternate ways to print certificates.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to escalate this? They're like sorry we're closed, its out of our hands, providing no solution. It doesn't make sense because peoples' lives are on hold because of this.

Any recommendation to put light on this issue would be appreciated
Did they asked you for another police certificate while your file was in progress?

I know you were lucky since PR stage :p
LOL when i went back home on may 2020 i got a new police certificate and i translated and notarized it, so i used that when i applied in sep 2020.
yours might be missing some days. if u got a certificate 3 days before landing, and u used that to apply, you would be missing 3 days

A couple of days ago, I got an email decline from IRCC saying my case does not qualify for Urgent Processing.

I had written to my MP to check status with IRCC. After 3 weeks, today I got a call from their office saying everything is fine. You are waiting for Oath. Should be done in the next couple of months.

On the other hand, my immigration lawyer has advised to wait for 6 months; if nothing happens by then, he'll file a writ of mandamus.

The only other source for info is ATIP which I've already applied for. Not sure what, if at all, will come out of them.

So, as on date, I've exhausted all of my lifelines and am back to square one. I'm hoping against hope that I don't have to file a mandamus; it's a needless expense for something which is done and dusted and rightfully mine. If IRCC just scheduled a random date two months from now, I'm fine with that. At least there is something to look forward to. What drives me nuts is the radio silence.

what about the note that if you were in your country of origin before becoming a permanent resident and that falls in the 4 years period, you don't need to submit a police certificate?

IMHO, this sounds like a bad idea. Doesn’t accomplish much and borders on a violation of CASL.
A concerted effort via mainstream media / PR could get more attention.
Better than this might be a legally permitted protest in front of IRCC offices - would probably get more traction in media as something unprecedented.
The website is mine, along with the twitter. I did put in real effort because my file wasn't going anywhere. On February 7th, I had DM and just yesterday I saw my Oath scheduled for 1st of March. So it did work. If you don't believe me, email is info@liberaldontcare.ca. I took the site down as it served its propose for now.

For reference, I filled back in February 2021.

Bro, don't get me wrong but in my opinion I feel you have ruined your case by repeatedly communicating and if I'm not wrong you even complained about an officer after your test. Ircc employees will always have each other back and that might go against you even for future applications... I totally understand what you went through during the interview and have waited for too long for your application to be processed but there is nothing in your hands no matter what you do just leave to Ircc and hope they process it sooner In regards to papper or online applications being processed quicker or slower and that there's not enought storage room for paper applications is just a rumor. Nobody really knows what's going on. I felt the same way when my application was bring processed for almost 2 years. Just keep claim and be patient. Hope you get good news soon.
Best of luck

I complained about the officer over here but not officially coz I know they back each other. But I'll keep communicating till they actually do something about my application, like withdrawal is the most beautiful thing for an Ircc officer still nothing. Worse part is my app is still in Montreal. Online apps aren't moving at all

Little risky but why don't you contact global News or Toronto Star and explain your situation? So far I have seen people who complained on media got there applications processed with a lighting speed.

As much as it breaks my heart because of my origins, as much as the current situation in Ukraine will extend our delays for a few more years (After the alibi of Afghanistan, they will now justify the delays with the dramatic situation in Ukraine)... I just saw on television news that our prime minister has just announced that from now on, immigration applications from all types of Ukrainian citizens will be priorities... Thank you Putin! (It's sarcasm with desperation).

... What a sad day, I'm devastated, I didn't go to work today, the situation is really hard emotionally at the base + the new delays will come to increase our sorrows...
