Citizenship Certificate After Oath

Did you speak to them over the phone? They all confirm that my file states its mailed Feb 3rd. I will have to wait to see if certificate arrives. I know someone that received certificate 10 days after oath but tracker was still in progress. Fingers crossed it arrives

Also the agent over the phone sent an internal email of Friday to them to close the file. Says it happens sometimes and they just forget to close it. Let me just keep the hopes up for now. Nothing surprises me with IRCC anymore.

IRCC makes everything so confusing and complicated every time. I just called the Contact Centre now and the information I got was contradictory to say the least. (Keep in mind I had called last week and was told that my certificate was mailed out on the 25th of January {day of Oath})

So today, the agent I spoke with first ‘confirmed’ that my certificate was mailed out on the 25th, and then a few seconds later said to hold on that she wanted to check a few more things. She came back and apologized for the ‘misinformation’ and said my certificate was actually just mailed out today from the Vancouver office and that she can access and see all the notes from the office that it has been sent through Canada Post.

She mentioned that even though I’m a Calgary applicant, the person I cut my PR card in front of was in SK and the Oath was taken in the presence of an MB judge. But that she’s got no explanation as to why Vancouver was the office that sent out the certificate, and advised me to wait 5-7 business days.

The certificate is NOT mailed until the file is closed. The file isn't closed until the mailing office has inspected the certificate for correctness and closed the file.

I don't understand why the dishonesty from IRCC Edmonton office.
I don't think that's always the case. I received my certificates a month ago but the tracker is still showing "In-Progress" as of today.. And I have another bigger problem lol

I don't know what to say about Ottawa office.
I got my certificate after 77 days (oath on Oct 23, 2021 and certificate received on Jan 13, 2022) after multiple emails sent to Ottawa Office and an escalation to minister Sean Fraser (and receiving a reply from minister's office that my certificates were printed on Jan 11, 2022).

I submitted my citizenship application in Nov 2019.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the invite for oath.. I was NOT.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I had attended the oath. I was NOT.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the certificate and guess what. I was WRONG.

I applied for passport on Jan 17, 2022 (in-person at ServiceCanada office as I have planned travel within 25 business days). Submitted everything.
On Jan 28, 2022, I received a call from PassportsCanada saying that my certificates numbers are not showing in the system. Passports Canada cannot issue passports as they cannot validate the certificate. She said it can happen if you applied just the next day after oath.. I said I had my oath almost 3 months ago. She was shocked and said call IRCC and ask them to enter the info in the system. So I am back to SQUARE ZERO.

Whoever printed my certificates (I guess that is JT in Ottawa office) has not entered them in the system. Maybe that's why the tracker still shows "Citizenship Ceremony: In-Progress".

Sent email to Ottawa Office 10 days ago.. No reply. Tracker Status is still: In-Progress
Called IRCC call center: We are receiving high number of calls.. Unless this is about Afghanistan crisis, Call back later.
Sent another escalation to the minister.. Awaiting for response (maybe in a month).
Cancelled my flight tickets for the 2nd time.

Enough!

Wow @Dhaka2014 That is seriously messed up. :(

You can contact the Call Centre. I'm on the phone with them now.

Put in your UCI number followed by #. Select 1 if you entered it correctly. Then select 1,1,4,1,1. Ignore any reference to Afghanistan, just wait the message out and you'll get options to select from. If it says they're too busy, just hang up and call back. It may take several tries.

Good luck!

Update: Called the Call Centre. Only 8 tries today to get through to someone. Like @Brinsty the agent said they would send an immediate urgent email to Edmonton office, requesting they close the application. She agreed that until you close the application, your certificate numbers aren't in the system and cannot be confirmed.

The mental stress I am having in the last 3 months (from oath to now) is more than I have had in last the 2.5 years (from citizenship application to oath).
I believe in God and I am sure the person responsible for this will feel the pain someday.

Even the "Passports Canada" lady who called me today asked me to reach out to my MP (when I told her if she has any better idea how to reach IRCC) as MPs have backdoor access to push IRCC or get info. She said it happens sometimes when the person apply for passport within 1-2 days of oath. For me, I applied 3 .5 months after oath.

Even ServiceCanada knows how terrible is IRCC.
