asking for a friend.
he received the following from Immigration.

A COPY OF VALID PASSPORT
Please be advised that you (and any family member in Canada that has been included in your application) must be in possession of a valid passport or travel document in order for us to finalize your application for permanent residence. SEND a copy of the bio-data pages of your passport or travel document to our office. If you are unable to obtain a valid passport or travel document, PROVIDE us with evidence and steps you have taken to demonstrate your efforts to obtain a passport or travel document.

1, it has expired, 2 the original passport is with cbsa. 3. their country embassy is closed due to covid.
what will they do at this time
Please at what stage of the application do people receive this kind of message, is it after AOR or AIP? Thanks for your response in advance.

No AIP yet, got AOR since March 4th. How long does it take now to get AIP after AOR? Has anyone ever been refused in this scheme?

Temporary public policy to facilitate the granting of permanent residence for foreign nationals in Canada, outside of Quebec, with recent Canadian work experience in essential occupations
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/public-policies/trpr-canadian-work-experience.html

not sure if pending or failed refugee claimants are qualified
Good question, im not sure either. Never mentioned about claimant but mentioned about temporary resident permit. I guess all WP for claimant has remarks “ DO NOT CONFER TEMPORARY STATUS”. May be they will clarify at later stage before policy effective date

Refugee claimants aren’t temporary residents. But who knows they will clarify by themselves later

We both dont know how long this new policy takes to process PR applications. Conventional refugees have their route to Permanent residency. Quick a look on “guardian angel” will make us draw comparison. However this is not for conventional refugee, only capped at 50,000 applicants

This is good news people
So no negativity
A lot of people will qualify with this new update
Whether refugees or not so far you have been working for at least 1 year.

Anyone knows how to contact IRCC on submitted application for the healthcare pathway, submitted my application last month March no acknowledgement yet if they received or not.
Just want to know the options to click to speak to an agent. Thanks

Yes alot of people might qualify but definitely not pending or failed refugee claimant. Refugee claimant are not Temporary Resident. Its cleary writen in bold capital letters on the work permit.
