Hi all,

I have a problem with the Outland Spouse Sponsorship application fee, I'm a Canadian who lives in hong kong with 2 dependent children who already apply Canadian citizenship proof in 2020 Dec, do I still need to pay for the Sponsor a dependent child $150 CAD X 2?

Thank you for your reply.

You do not apply for PR status for children who are (presumed) Canadian citizens. They are not included in the main PR application form as applicants (even though they are dependents because as presumed citizens they cannot become PRs); you will need to show that you have applied for citizenship for them (attach copies of the application).

How about the biometrics? Do they need to do it?

Only if needed for passports (don't know). And note, I think biometrics not taken for children under 14, but that's a question for The Google.

At any rate the thing to keep in mind is it's a different process for them, apart from the additional family information form and demonstrating that you've applied for citizenship for them, they're (in a sense) not a part of the sponsorship application at all.

Well noted and thank you for your help

Once my wife gets her confirmation of permanent resident? Is she able to travel to Canada now ? I’m getting mixed messages on the websites with covid travel restrictions.

Hello Everyone. I am a Canadian PR.I am sponsoring my wife through an inland application. In the application, birth certificate is required. My wife does have birth certificate but it is filled out by Pen back in 1995. Also, there is a missing "a" from her last name and her parent's respective last names.

What do you guys recommend we do? Do we submit a LOE that the person filling it out made a mistake?
Do we need to submit a translated document because it is filled out in Pen. Kindly advice.

Hi,
It’s better to call IRCC and ask them to advise because webform takes too long to be replied

Read the instructions. They should say where to send if you are in Canada.
I just received this email from ircc should I send my photo for PR card with passport ?
Submitting your document(s) in Canada

If you have a mailing address in Canada and if you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre – Ottawa.

Have you read the instructions carefully? It should specify that you need to submit photographs as well.
