Good day everyone, it was quite a long read. I never believed Canada will give additional points to CEC guys because trust me, it is not necessary and secondly they can not meet their target with that. What do I mean by their target, Canada is concerned about increasing her population and inviting just inland people(because if CEC point is increased, they will be the ones majorly invited) then the population will remain stagnant and even reduce. They depend fully on outlanders to increase their population. If points are to be increased, it should be points for outlanders..
Cheer up buddies, nothing is happening

Hi all,
I hope there will be a draw coming Wednesday, wat do you all think about it's possibility? Besides that does anyone has any guess on the score to expect??? I feel there will be a reduction in cut-off scores now since there is no actual increase in points for Canadian education. I would like you all to post your valuable opinion.

Most of the CEC candidates are also immigrants albeit temporary. Canada will be just fine if they let them remain.

I believe they are counted during census and contribute to the 37M population. If they are OK with their underpopulation situation, trust me there will be no need for EE. Just imagine what happened to their economy without the normal influx of outlanders. They depend more on outlanders. They can not continue to favor inland guys are the detriment of outlanders because it will become an enclosed entity and there will be no change either in their population or economy as no immigrant is coming from the outside

Unfortuantely I don't think IRCC sees it that way. They think that now outsiders will have to come through the route of canadian education first. So going forward they continue to get their influx of people from outside. but those who want to come to Canada are now forced to opt for Canadian education first. This way, they get the same number of people immigrating, but getting a boost to Canada's education industry, as that has now become the gateway to express entry due to higher points requirments. Basically the effect is rerouting outsider traffic to Canada through the Canadian educational institutions.

I see the weight in both thoughts discussed above. In my opinion, they need to have a balanced approach between CEC and FSW. Point change can demotivate FSWs so much that it might lead to people not seeing Canada as a potential destination anymore which is the backbone for Canadian economy

We might see more CEC draws but point change is not happening.

Can someone please help me understand how the CEC scores were so low.. a Canadian bachelor's with 1 year Canadian experience and 8777 IELTS gets 462 whereas the draw for CEC had a cutoff of 430-450... And that's without the extra points..

From what I have seen Many CEC candidates don't have 8777 in IELTS

If that's the case then the government is more likely to do CEC-only draws bi-weekly. But, at the end of the day, if Canada wants to hit their 2021 immigration target, they will need to continue with their FSW draws. This is especially true when you consider the recent US elections. Many immigrants, including Canadian citizens, will target the US now.

Many FSW candidates are closer to 30's and mostly married and IRCC has a stellar record of giving out study permits to older candidates who has closer to 10 years of experience. The study route makes total sense to me.
