Hello Everyone,

I hope all is well. I'm also awaiting for my child's papers. Her medical was done last January 22; I have not received any updates since then. I know most of us are on the same boat, hopeful, frustrated, and just wanted to be with our loved ones, especially in these hard times. I don't want to cause panic, but I want to ask if anyone here has heard that CIC won't start processing papers until next year, 2021. This is stressing me out even more; I just need to know what to expect from now on.

Thanks in advance.

There is no such information @mumay fort. Can you please provide the link and details.

In fact the processing has resumed from Mid June as per some timelines.

I don't think they will issue any PPR till the flight restrictions are lifted. In case even they issue the visa to us only COPR holder before 18 march are allowed to travel.
They might be processing all the applications and keeping things ready. As soon the flight will be open they will be issuing the PPR.
It might be the case but aren't COPR valid for atleast a year. Anyone getting COPR from August onwards will have time till next year. By delaying they might again ask for Medicals to be done. Which is another major issue considering the condition of hospitals and clinics.

What about children who are on TRV in Canada and cant go back to their home country due to restrictions. Why is their COPR kept on hold. They will anyways have to be in Canada for a while till things improve.

Is processing of Children PR as complex as that of Spouse PR or other Regular PRs.

The information that I mentioned above was based on what was told to me by a colleague. I don't believe him of course, but can't deny the fact that it got me worried sick. I asked him to back up his statement, but couldn't provide any, So I asked. Anyhow, thank you for your clarification. I wish all of us the best of luck amidst our current situation.

Stay safe and healthy!

what is think they will first try to clear the old issued COPR, expired COPR are after them like hell.
then only they will issue new COPR, i have read in many forums people have started getting DM and Pre-arrival, in almost every country.
About COPR validity they give different validity to every other person. like my was just 4 months valid and others were having 6 months.
once DM or pre-arrival done i don't think they will again issue any re-medical, why they would like to increase administrative work for them,
New ITA are already around 10k on their table from different categories.
Dependent children PR are most smooth to handle and easy.

But any way this all is assumptions, only god knows how do they process. children(Immediate relationship) are in exempted categories to travel, if they want they could have clear the waiting list of children PR.

Hello,

I am Canadian PR. Currently I am in India with my kid and my husband is in Canada. I read about child sponsorship processing time and it is around 11 months which is really long.

Is it possible to take my child to Canada on visitor visa and then apply for his sponsorship as soon as we land? And if yes, will we have to cross border after 6 months as he will be on visitor visa or that won't be the case as we would have already applied for his sponsorship?

Staying apart in pandemic is hard as we surely lack with support. Please help me out if there is any other option available.

Thank you.

You can bring the child as a visitor and sponsor PR. A month before his visitor visa expires , you will have to apply for a visitor record to extend his stay as a visitor while your PR application is in progress.you dont have to go out of the border. I have no information if Canadian embassies are open in India to issue new visitor Visas or even if Canada allows visitors in now.

Hi Jancy,
Am in the same situation, my Son AOR is Jan 20th,2020. Still no update after file moved to Mississauga. Medicals passed on Feb 21st.
and regarding OHIP card, i have not heard about this, but during pandemic if we have PR approval we do not have to wait 3 months on Ontario which i know. Other than this if you get any info please let us also know. Thanks
Hello, our timelines are almost the same. From what I enquired from IRCC, CIC will issue a "approval in principle" letter which you can use to get OHIP even before the entire PR process is done. But the processing delay in missisauga VO can cause delays in getting this letter. It's been 6 months already. Hopefully by the end of the year it will be sorted.

Hey Jancy, Thank you so much for helping. Do you have any links handy for extending visitor visa?

I dont have any links but it's a simple process.login to your cic account and you have options to start an application from there for a visitor visa. Answer a couple of questions, then it will tell you what documents you need to upload. That's it

Hey guys, my dependent child's TRV was approved last week and the mail said that New Delhi mission office would be contacting with further instructions. Anybody in the same situation?
Hi congratulations!! I had applied TRV for my baby daughter in March but it got rejected. Reasons provided were that the applicant did not have a reason to return back to India.
What reason did you provide for travel?

Did they gave you any reason? when did you apply and after how many days they rejected?
Hi i had applied in March and soon after lockdown started. I got refusal mail in mid July. The reason stated was applicant had no reason to come back hence temporary visa cannot be issued.
