Hi All,

I have gone through the entire forum and im still not quite clear as to the points awarded for foreign Law LLB by CES. Can anyone be kind enough to confirm if they had used CES for evaluation of their foreign Law degree and if this was classified as Professional/Masters please? :-(
Hi! Your law degree from your country, it’s a University Degree or a Master one? Also, how many years of study did you completed for this degree?

Usually if you have a 3yrs university degree from a recognized university – they will assess it as “3yrs Bachelor’s degree”, while a 2yrs Master degree from a recognized university will be assessed as a “Master’s degree from a recognized university” (no period mentioned). But this depends on what it’s mentioned on your law degree and again, this is not an "official rule", they might assess it different if they have any concerns..

Good luck!

Thank you for your response! In my country, we run a 5-year bachelor's degree (LL.B) and an additional 1-year call to bar degree (B.L). I'd like to believe this should qualify me with CES to claim max points for a professional degree no?

oh, ok.. in this case I am not sure what to tell you, this is just my personal opinion - but probably it's depending on how CES will interpret your years of study. Unfortunately, I think they’ll consider the type of degree from your country, so as long as your 5 yrs diploma is a Bachelor one, then CES will most probably assess it as “5yrs Bachelor” as well. About the other 1yr bar degree, most probably they will assess it as a different “1 yr diploma” or something, but I don’t think it will be counted as “Master”, nor that you'll have max points (as for Master degree), but you should definitely try, as far as I heard, CES are the best in assessing diplomas.. :)
Or maybe someone in your exact same case went through the process and can share their experiences.

Hello!

I'm really not a very patient person, but I think this process keeps going disturbingly slow. Do you think that it is normal?

Yup, they have a funny way of updating the steps so you have no reasons to worry. usually all the steps will be completed around 1 week prior to the 3 months of waiting.
You can read the responses from this forum and you will see that all of us went through the same process.

Should I wait a little bit longer, or should I contact the University of Toronto?
Thanks,
Your journey just started, they (CES) are still completing “Sep ‘19 transcripts received” status. And then they had 2 weeks break. Until you get an email which states when they received your transcripts, your timeline of 14 weeks won’t start. Good luck, most probably starting March!!

Thanks a lot. Can you help with the e-maid ID where I need to send the mail for getting e-copy of evaluation? I have sent it to learn@UofT, however haven't got any response.

The email address is learn@utoronto.ca. The reason why you have to request it first is because CES Missing Documents (Complete only if requested) Form (AP007), should only be uploaded to your application when it has been previously requested to CES. They take up to 2 business days to reply to emails.

If you live in the US or Canada and use CES, I think that the electronic copy is not that useful to you, because the physical copy usually arrives the next day after it is dispatched. Good luck to everyone in this process. If you have any questions keep posting on the thread. I'll try to help if I can.

Thank you. Haven't received any reply after 3 days. Will wait for another day. All the best to you for rest of the journey.

You need to send them an email to learn@utoronto.ca and request it. In theory, you have to do this because that's how you can use the form AP007 to add "additional documents that CES has requested" to your application. After, you'll have to call CES to do a payment by phone. Beware, it takes them 5 business days to process this. Your electronic copy might be sent a day after your physical copy gets dispatched. If you live in Canada or the US, they will send the physical copy to you overnight (1 day delivery).

Thanks a lot!
I actually live in Albania so it will take very long for me to get the physical copy and thats why I really needed the electronic copy.
I sent them sent an email on January 15 and called them on the same day. They reacted very fast and I managed to get my electronic copy yesterday. So in my case they only took 1 day to process the payment and send me the copy.
