Hello,
I am filling out my Permanent Residence application and I need advice regarding the Education History section.
I want to make sure I’m filling this honestly and correctly, showing the timeline of my studies and gaps, but I’m confused about the level of education field for an incomplete program.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you fill in the level of education for an incomplete program? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I am filling out my Permanent Residence application and I need advice regarding the Education History section.
- In my Express Entry profile, I indicated my highest completed degree — a Bachelor’s — and received points accordingly.
- Now, in the PR application, I am asked to provide secondary and post-secondary education history.
- I want to include previous studies before my bachelor’s, because I attended a master’s program in a different major and university, but I did not complete it.
- For example:
- 2009–2012: Master’s program, 5-year program, studied 3 years, not completed.
- 2012–2015: Changed university and major, eventually completed bachelor’s.
- Should I select Master’s degree even though I did not complete it?
- Or should I select “None / Less than secondary”?
- The form also asks if I have obtained a Canadian degree, diploma, or certificate — obviously I did not.
- It keeps asking for Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) — which I don’t have, because I didn’t finish the program.
I want to make sure I’m filling this honestly and correctly, showing the timeline of my studies and gaps, but I’m confused about the level of education field for an incomplete program.
