Hi
I am planing to surrender my India passport soon and have to travel to India in March first week . I am looking at following options

1) Surrender PP Application + OCI application simultaneously
2) Surrender PP application followed by India visa Application (Tourist or E-Visa both can b considered depending on time situation)
3) Surrender PP application + India 1 yr tourist visa application simultaneously .......Can this be done ?

Any idea how much time would each of these options take?

If your ultimate goal is OCI, Go for option 1. If you start now, you will get your OCI well in time, in Feb. ( 6 weeks). Going for E visa/ tourist you will be wasting
money and time( evisa/tourist visa fees + BLS fees + courier fees) and then OCI fees after you return.

"Unmarried Applicants: For both minors and adults: In the online form, please fill in ‘unmarried’ in the online form and submit a written declaration to the Consulate General of India, stating that they are single and that they have never been married."

Can somebody share the format of the declaration?
Hi, Did you get an answer to this? I'm in the same boat and not sure what do I need to submit for this. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, All

I am filling out application for OCI
In part B where it asks about any family member applied for OCI ?
details in that section ask about place where applied? should I write Canada or High commission jurisdiction? I live in Red Deer

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify the declaration is only for adults (over 18).
I didn't need it so don't have template but a simple letter to consulate/bls stating applicant is single, with signatures may suffice.

I wrote Toronto and was fine, so probably go with region/Jurisdiction

Any one here applied recently for OCI to the Vancouver location?
I see they have removed the requirement for the original landing papers for spouse and applicant?
Is this really true?? or should I just send it anyway? Applying for my wife's OCI as a self indian citizen not on spouse based OCI

Please advice,

Thanks
