Hi,

Submitted my application on 5th March, received AOR on the same day.
Medicals passed - was updated on 13th March.
Since then, no change in status - "we will update you when we start yourbackground check".

I know the processing time is 6 months, but just curious to know the current status and also want to make sure that I don't miss out on any communication. I also heard that PPR mail can be from a different sender and could possibly arrive in spam, can you suggest?

Called CIC two weeks ago, but their response was not as expected.
Have been trying to contact them again, would you suggest me if there is any other way to check the current status of my application?

Thanks,
Vivian

I have just been asked to submit my passport and accompany Family members. My husband is not in Canada but I and my kids are in Canada..... they only gave instructions for US/Canadian residents to send our passport to Ottawa. How can he go about submitting his passport please? Does anyone have an idea?

Congratulations!

You can request CIC to change the office for your husband. It will be assigned to his local visa office.

They are different stages your application goes through in background check. Following are the wordings used in your application status with respect to each stage:

IP1- Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
IP2-We are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more information.

Hope this helps!

Hi all,
I have been reading this forum from the last few weeks and it has been very informative. I submitted my application on 3/30/18 and received PPR today. Below is my timeline-
ITA Jan 8
AOR March 30
MEP April 11
IP1 April 11
IP2 May 17
PPR May17
FSW Outland US Resident.

I had Canadian PR before but wasn't able to fulfill residency requirements. I renounced to reapply.

Hey folks, Iam immensely delighted to inform all that I got the golden mail today at 8.47 am for submission of passports for visa. Too excited to believe this..
What email did you get it from? And was there an ‘updated’ in your application status online?
