No 10 is really confusing. In the help option, they are saying "Write all addressed inside and outside of Canada that you used during you eligibility period....

Does this means, home visits, vacations, comference addresses are need to be mentioned?

" We encourage applicants to apply with more than the minimum requirement of 1095 days of physical presence, to account for any miscalculations of absences, or any other aspect that could lower the physical presence total below 1095 days."

Second try...any one immediately eligible waiting for few buffer days ?

I think instruction guide clearly states that .. :)
When the online calculator asks you for the time you spend in your country before you even come to Canada and the form asks to provide a police certificate for the same period back home then decently will answer yes for a question asking if you live out Canada for the last 4 years.

Do I need a police report if I didn't leave Canada except for a trip for a week? If the answer is yes, from where should I get that and how. Thanks

Hey guys,

I hope someone can find the answer for me. I got married and applied for sponsorship in nov 2012 and received my sélection du quebec in February 2014 followed by the work permit in June 2014.

I had a visitor visa that expired before marriage, although, I had I applied for sponsorship within the 90 days as well as the restoration for the visitor visa which I came back refused due to the other application as PR that was sent and Accepted.

My question is. What was my status in Canada since the time I got married till the time I received my work permit so that I can fill all the proper requirements on the physical presence calculator.

The options are as per cic are:
  • visitor,
  • student,
  • worker or,
  • temporary resident permit holder
A protected person is someone who:

  • was found to be in need of protection or a convention refugee by the Immigration and Refugee Board, or
  • received a positive decision on a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Note: If you made a refugee claim, or were included on a family member’s refugee claim, you will not be credited time in Canada from the date of the refugee claim until you have received a positive decision confirming that you are a protected person as described above.

These requirements don’t apply to children under 18 where a parent or guardian has applied on their behalf for citizenship using the subsection 5(2) application form.

You may be eligible to apply even if you don’t meet the minimum time lived in Canada if you’re a:

  • Crown servant (certain categories of public officials)
  • family member of a Crown servant

Mush appreciate your help and support.

Thanks

MK. During my stay in UAE, I visited Canada for 6 days ( conference) stayed in hotel. Will I include this in the addresses? Will I claim these 6 days towards my residency. ( it was within the 5 years)

Within the last 4 years, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more. If you cannot get a police certificate, tell us why.
Example 1
In the past 4 years, you took one (1) trip to France that lasted 200 days. You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from France.
Example 2
In the past 4 years, you took 10 trips to the United States of America (USA). Each trip lasted 3 weeks, for a total of 210 days. You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from the USA.
Example 3
In the past 4 years, you spent one year (365 days) working in Singapore. While working in Singapore, you took a trip to Malaysia (10 days) and Thailand (10 days). You would answer “Yes” to the question and you would need to provide a police certificate from Singapore. You would not need to provide police certificates from Malaysia or Thailand.
Example 4
In the past 4 years, you took one (1) trip to Europe where you visited Portugal (5 days), Spain (7 days), France (10 days), Belgium (3 days), Netherlands (3 days), Germany (21 days), Switzerland (7 days) and Italy (21 days). You took a second trip to Europe where you visited Ireland (14 days), Scotland (14 days) and England (21 days). You went to Germany for a business trip that lasted 60 days. The total time you were outside of Canada was 186 days but you were not in a single country for 183 days or more. You would answer “No” to the question and you would not need to provide police certificates from any of the countries.
