February 22, 2023, waiting for P1

The current processing time is 28 months, i applied for pr card on October 2022, just waiting for my security and final decision, anyone else in the same boat. I have no idea what to do, been calling, requesting GCMS notes, & web form.

Processing times are notoriously not correct. If you have similar processing times to others all you can do is wait.

Remove the 365-Day Cap for Refugees Applying for Canadian Citizenship

> We call on the Government of Canada and IRCC to eliminate the unfair restriction that limits refugees from counting more than 365 days of their pre-PR residency toward Canadian citizenship.

Refugees recognized by the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) often live in Canada for 2–3 years before receiving permanent residence. Yet, only up to 365 days of this period can be counted—at half-value—toward the 1,095 days required to apply for citizenship.

This rule:

Discriminates against refugees by ignoring years of life and contribution in Canada.

Delays their ability to fully participate in Canadian civic and social life.

Adds unnecessary psychological and legal hardship on already vulnerable people.

We urge IRCC to reform the Citizenship Act and allow all days spent in Canada after IRB acceptance to count fully toward citizenship eligibility.

Refugees deserve equal recognition for the time they’ve spent building lives in Canada. Let’s make citizenship accessible and fair.
Already more than 50 months still waiting in Quebec, don’t forget petition or anything they don’t care.
