Hi @Miss bee
today is 2 years since my AR. I have been stuck in security from 1.5 years. My employer gave me a supporting letter and asked IRCC to speed up my application. Also, I contacted the local MP a few times. She says I have to wait. I am really sick of waiting, specially when I see there is no fairness in the immigration system. have you got any advice for me?
Omg seriously? How do they pick who gets to be under a comprehensive security check? Manifesting you get news soon!

No idea how they select people for comprehensive check. What I know about myself is I have never had any military or governmental positions. No idea why I’m under security check and the worst thing is they behave totally irresponsibly. I’m losing a lot of job opportunities and sticking in the limbo of uncertainty.

Just received my gcms notes and found I’m under A34 comprehensive security. All checks has passed except security. Anyone else under comprehensive?

I applied for non express on aug 30th , 2024 if i want to remove my representative will it cause any negative impact on my file ? Please respond
Removing your representative from a non-express immigration or visa application (filed August 30th, 2024) generally should not negatively impact your file as long as you continue to meet all application requirements and deadlines yourself.
Here are some key points to consider:
  • You will be responsible for managing your case going forward, including any communication with the immigration authorities.
  • If your representative was previously submitting documents or responding on your behalf, you will need to do this yourself once they are removed.
  • Removing a representative does not invalidate or cancel your application.
  • Make sure to notify the immigration office properly about the removal of your representative, following their required procedure.
  • If you feel unsure about handling your case alone, you might consider appointing a new representative or legal advisor.

Hi @Miss bee

I’m really sorry you’re going through this — waiting in security clearance limbo for so long is incredibly frustrating and exhausting. It’s completely understandable to feel fed up, especially after two years and with little progress despite your efforts.
  1. Keep Documenting Everything: Continue to keep copies of all communications with IRCC, your employer’s letters, and MP interactions. This documentation can be useful if you escalate your case.
  2. Contact IRCC Again: Sometimes, a well-written, clear, and concise inquiry requesting an update or expressing hardship can help. Mention your long wait, your employer’s support, and the impact on your life.
  3. Use the IRCC Web Form: Submit a case-specific inquiry through the IRCC web form referencing your Application Number and mentioning the long delay.
  4. MP Escalation: Since your local MP says you have to wait, you could consider reaching out to another elected official or ombudsman who handles immigration cases, if available in your area.
  5. Legal Advice: Consulting with an immigration lawyer or consultant might provide you with personalized options — sometimes they have insight on how to push or clarify security clearance delays.
  6. Mental Health: It’s okay to seek support for the stress and anxiety caused by this uncertainty. Friends, family, or professional counseling can help.
Unfortunately, security clearances can sometimes be unpredictable and take a very long time, and IRCC’s hands may be tied on their end. But continuing to advocate, keeping your case active, and seeking professional advice where possible can increase your chances.
