My visa has not been approved yet, it's been 3 months and a week now even though I'm not HIV positive. However, They'll treat your application as they treat anyone's. There's no strict rules for HIV positive patients. No discrimination bro. I know a friend who is HIV positive but got his visa approved within 2 months, another one completed his master last year and is now working in Canada.

The point is they can refuse you visa for other reason such not having enough fund, no family ties etc. but not base on the fact that you have HIV. NO.

Bro, live a stress free life, wait patiently for your visa and move on. Trust me.

Don't disclose your status to anyone. It's confidential and IRCC will not disclose it neither, not even to your agent or whatsoever. Having HIV isn't a problem. I know a friend who HIV positive but currently working in Canada now (PGWP) .

In general having HIV if your viral load is undetectable, are on a treatment regimens that costs under a certain amount per year and you have no other health risks you can get approved to come to Canada. For especially students it can be much harder to get approved in certain provinces than others. International students are either covered by provincial health insurance or have to purchase a special international health insurance policy that is included in their tuition. It depends on the provinces. It seems to be more difficult to get approved for a student permits in smaller provinces where there may be more difficultly accessing healthcare especially if you are studying in a small city. Some provinces seem to try to avoid having students who may need more complex or expensive healthcare because they have even less healthcare resources than some of the larger provinces. This seems like a case by case situation not a firm rule.

Some of the newest regimens are not under the cap but can be changed to something else. There isn’t a clear rule when it comes to people with medical issues getting approved/denied in some of smaller provinces. Assume what the medical issue is (previous kidney transplants another medical issue that has been an issue), where you are studying in the province and what type of degree you are doing will likely be some of the considerations. All you can do is wait and see.
