Test Completed But BACKGROUND CHECK in progress.

online application submitted on July 2021, stuck in Security screening since like March 2022？or since my AOR date in Oct 2021????
anyway, test got completed in June 2022 and its ben 5 months now nothing happened like wtf....

Almost same...., online application from Vancouver submitted on Dec 2021, stuck in Security screening since April 10, 2022 (GSMC) test got completed on June 15 2022....

everything else in progress. No updates whatsoever. Ircc phone agents offer theregular spiel- 25 months, just wait etc.

Requested gcms notes in July and Aug under the privacy act- no response. Requested under Information act 2 weeks ago- only received temporary request number so far (do they actually send a formal file number?)

My life is on hold and it sucks

May I ask how do you tell per GCMS that you are stuck in Security screening?
I just received my GCMS notes, and the section under CLEARANCES - security is close to blank, only showing my name and UCI, no dates or stuff like other sections of the notes.

In the same boat! Around 10 months since test completed and everything is in progress. Other folks in different threads are in the same situation as well. I suggest to keep one single thread (this one?) to keep everyone posted or creating a WhatsApp group?

Unfortunately I think this is the longest of waits. But recently some applications waiting in security for a year or so seem to clearing so can only be hopeful.

Unlike residency questions or other issues, I don't think there's a way to speed things up when it's stuck in security.

GCMS is received by email and is just a snapshot of your application in the IRCC system.

From your status, I think you were one of the backlogged applicants recently seeing movement. I'd suggest you'd be better off writing an email to your office.

You can find section History / application, if you see CASE updated by user EAISEC new value PASS and No reportable Trace (NRT) that means you PASS SECURITY

Nope, couldn't find those you mentioned. only could see Criminality was passed with 'No Reportable Trace'.
My background verification in the portal was completed on the same day as the Criminality was passed.
Wish everyone pass security without being stuck for too long.
