Hello,

I applied for inland spousal sponsorship in April 2025 as the principal applicant. All stages are complete except my background check, which is still in progress. My case only complexity is that I was divorced in home country in 2022 before remarrying in Canada and I have provided decree while submitting application. Could my previous divorce be the reason my Bgc process is delayed? Has anyone with a similar situation experienced this and FD?

Thanks

No background checks have nothing to do with previous marriage. It either has to do with your country or origin or likely work/military history.

Thanks for info . I don’t have any military background and my country origin is India and I am working as IT consultant in Canada. Many candidates with similar timelines got FD and ECOPR, and mine is still stuck on BGC. Not sure what’s happening.

May be due to your type of IT work. Also did you ever work for any government agency?

Never worked with any government agency. I have had always worked in service based companies and dealt with only corporate clients.
