I can certainly understand the frustrations with the Warsaw Embassy and VAC. My wife and I (Ukrainian) had to rush and stay in Poland from Ukraine due to the war, and had a hard time dealing with both of those offices in Warsaw. They are totally overwhelmed with people from Ukraine, and the service has been horrible. I would not be surprised if they are not devoting 100% of the time required to carefully consider files.

I'm not that surprised that they got overwhelmed, but once again severely disappointed with IRCC/GAC that they haven't simply devoted the resources to catch up. It's eight months in now, and it was clear by mid-summer this wasn't going to be over quickly.

A generaly failing with our goverments: slow to catch on, slow to devote resources, slow to come up with solutions that speed things up enough to catch up.

I'm in the same boat with most of you.
My wife (Russian citizen) and two dependent children (dual Russian and Canadian citizens) are in Russia waiting for the PR for my wife, while I'm in Canada. We stuck on a background check, IRCC asked for an additional document, we provided it and then more than 2 months silence. We applied for TRV for wife with the main reason 'Accompanying dependent children (Canadian citizens) to come to Canada for a family visit to their father'. Also silence...

You can try. If you have an email for warsaw, you can copy to there as well (they used to obviously read email, don't know now).

they don't reply to emails.
i mean, i could do that without slowing the process? gckey still says that the documents have been uploaded, not being reviewed yet. i think it's okay plus we're making another enquiry.

doesn't the webform enquiries go there? :)
I am not sure if it goes to that specific mailbox or not, sorry. One thing is for sure, is that they notice individual emails quicker than ones that are sent from the webform, which I am sure is sent into an Outlook folder along with the 1000's of other submissions. :)

I really can't say, my experience with them was before all of this (albeit during covid), and it didn't seem to slow things down. They did not respond to things that needed no response (submission of routine stuff), and basically did not to general inquiries or only with delayed form letters (but I kept to absolute minimum), but did to important things. That's why I say it seemed like they were reading and acting upon - although not quickly, it seemed faster than webforms (much faster). Again, do not know if that is possible since warsaw taking on the Ukraine special measures.

Sent via web form, rep did )
I want to believe that since we got the Pfl and 30 days to act up-things will go faster. Plus my mp inquired last week

Once the war started we did notice a general impact due to the caseload. They apologized for delays in getting back to us about important things, VFS in Warsaw was shall I say a large problem and pain. The never returned messages that were meaningful, and always closed enquiries about important things such as missing passports that were shipped to and signed for by them. They also did not say that they were holding the passports for pickup in Warsaw even though return shipping was paid for and instructions carefully followed. When they were confronted at the office, the genuinely were not remorseful for the errors or unprofessional treatment. I would encourage people to deal with any VFS office other than Warsaw if possible. Point in fact, I spoke with the Vienna VFS office and told them I was dealing with the Warsaw office, they replied with "Oh, I am sorry". LOL

So is an approval of TRV for wife possible, even though there is next to none proof that she will return to Russia? We have written about compassionate reasons, and that she would never break immigration law - sounds flimsy on paper but not sure what else to include. We just want to get her over here wit h our kid to wait out the PR approval.

It is possible but there's no predicting the likelihood. They can reject for obvious reasons. They can just approve out of common sense/leniency. Some will argue there is more likelihood if (some level of) approval in principle / eligibility has been received, and that's probably true (more likelihood), but in the end perhaps more a function of individual officer.

Simple answer: 100% of those who do not apply for TRV do not get one.

Unfortunately, only time will tell and only IRCC can tell you your chances. I suspect that they would be hesitant to approve a TRV with minimal evidence, especially given the current circumstances going on with Russia. That being said, it is up to the reviewing officer, and on the good side, at least they will tell you reasonably quickly if it is approved or not. Best of luck to you and your family.
